Poured from a 12 oz. can into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a hazy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Solid finger of off white head which settles into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A crisp, earthy, and bready balanced aroma with hints of biscuit and grass. Earthy and floral hops with some hints of grass and a little orange and lemon fruit. Bready pale malt hints of biscuit, grains, cracker, and yeast. A decent balanced aroma.

Taste: Follows the nose, a crisp, earthy, and bready taste with a balance of earthy hops and malt. Earthy and floral hops give a moderate bitterness and notes of grass. Light citrus notes of orange and lemon. Pale malt with bready notes of biscuit, grains, caramel, cracker, and yeast. A decent pale ale taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crips, clean, and drying on the finish.

Overall: An ok take on a Pale Ale. Good balance of grassy hops and biscuit malt.

Very tasty beer. A nice peach-orange hue, with a bubbly, frothy head that doesn't last too long but is impressive nonetheless. A little lacing after each sip. Hoppy nose with a slight hint of Belgian in the back end. I like it a lot. Great hoppy flavor, good mouthfeel, pleasant after taste. I'm surprised it's not rated higher. Definitely will get again.

Has a solid malt body, but bitter on the finish.

No canning date.

Appearance: Caramel/honey color with great clarity and a half finger of off-white foam.

Aroma: Earthy hop spice and a bit of biscuit.

Taste: Summit called, they want to their EPA back. Well not quite, but really similar to the standard pale ale consumers have become accustomed to. A bouquet of rustic biscuit malt flavor paired with moderate earthy bitterness. There's also a bit of a soapy flavor that I'm going to attribute to the hops as well, though it hinders the experience. A touch of sweet citrus rounds out the hop profile. Somewhat sweet malty finish with a last burst of hop bitterness fading into the aftertaste. Given the 5.1% ABV I'd estimate the IBUs between 30 and 40. Nice bite but decently balanced.

Mouthfeel: Just below medium in body, which is right on for the style. A tad too much carbonation but that could be the fault of a less than aggressive pour. Definitely session territory.

Final Thoughts: Although I can't say I was excited to try this one, it turned out to be quite a good representation of the style and grew on me over the course of this review. I'll be trying more of their offerings and likely stopping by the taproom next time I'm in the area. Would I drink it again? Sure.
