May 2014: 330 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. No brewing date or "best before" date on the bottle. ABV is 5.5%. Slightly hazy golden colour, large white head. Nice aroma of fruity / citrussy and herbal hops, a hint of dill. Citrussy and distinctly herbal / mildly spicy flavour, medium dry, with a nice bitterness in the finish and long aftertaste. Good beer. Would buy again.

L. Mid gold, pale haze. Very little rising CO2. Thin head clears swiftly to lacing
S. Pretty heavy citra hops fragrance, ie lemony/citrus. I don't get much else.
T. Better than feared. Fresh, dry, into quite a hoppy solid middle and dry slightly bitter end.
M. Dry, thin, quite fresh. I'm surprised to see it's 5.5% as it comes over to me as lighter.
O. The treatise on the rear lable in summary says this is a 'hop-bomb' combo... that's my choice of words in interpretating the style and how they describe the resipe. It comes over as rather thin and dry, maybe better on a hot/dry day than a cool/wet one. I can't find a reason I'd choose to buy this again.

330ml bottle. Beautiful, hazy, orange/gold with a fluffy head that reduces quickly to a ring. Orange rind aroma. Flavour is bright, fresh, citrus & guava nicely balanced with a bitter, lightly resinous backbone. Light body, soft carbonation and just a little slick of mouth-coating. Overall, this is an approachable, refreshing, crisp, easy-drinking APA. Plenty of hops but not a hop bomb. Pretty much exactly what you’d want from the style.

A very correct beer I like more Belgian beers, more dense. But this beer must be recognized as being well-worked.

Slightly hazy straw color with white head. Aroma has really nice floral notes and some sweet lemon. Taste is citrusy at first and continues with grainy notes. Finish has tea notes with a light to medium bitterness. Light to medium body and carbonation. Overall it's a decent pale but nothing really special.

Pale ale is dead, long live pale ale! As the craft beer world steers more and more toward the hop-centric IPA, its nice to know that the beer style that put American craft beer on the map still finds favor with competent brewers. The Wild Beer Co.'s American-style pale ale hits a double right down the middle with all the classic flavors prescribed for the style and with impeccable balance.

Hovering above its hazy champagne-gold body and its creamy stark-white head, its toasted scent comes at a mild surprise. Toasted granola is met with the quintessential grapefruit and orange peel along with a long herbal drift onto the nose. Its taste is supple with light caramel and simple sweetness.

Its slim sweetness soon breaks apart and the hops settle onto the middle palate with their brisk citrus taste and a bold herbal character that hinges on peppercorn, ginger, lemongrass, parsley and sassafras. Smooth in bitterness, its grip on the late palate is moderate and hits a chord that's slightly above the toasted malts that remain.

Bright and bitter-sweet, the medium-light ale is on a drying track that further favors the hops the longer the ale simmers on the finish. Almost minty in its alcohol character, the pale ale has a woodsy, tea and herb property that's not quite grassy but not quite of citrus rind either.

A 330ml bottle. Pours a golden, cloudy colour with a white head which leaves some lacing. Aromas of citrus, grapefruits & lime. Taste is of grapefruit, passion fruit, caramel, lime, hint of spice & citrus hops with bread malts also present. Aftertaste is crisp & dry with a medium bitterness.
