330ml bottle bought from Lighthouse Wines, Belfast

Poured pretty much pitch black even when held up to the light... Dirty burnt brown head poured to decent thickish covering.. light patchy sticky lacing...

Aroma - Strong roasted coffee to the fore, leathery and slightly sooty, charcoal notes, toasted bread, chocolate maltiness, vanilla, burnt toffee, treacle, earthy / cardboard hints, some buttery traces, light nuttiness, some light date and black cherries fruitiness, alcohol just noticeable...

Taste - Lots of charred roasted dark chocolate malt bitterness mixed with strong espresso coffee, warming alcohol, sooty, vanilla, some faint piney hops, earthy, toffee, toasted nutty sweetness, some treacle, faint anise

Feel - Smooth and fairly creamy... medium to full bodied... a little on the boozy side to be too quaffable

Overall - An excellent stout... highly recommended - can't wait to try the barrel aged version of this called Wiskebeast

Pitch black pour, with a creamy light-beige head. Smells of brewed coffee, whiskey, dark chocolate, dark cherries, cocoa and, of course, vanilla- amazingly complex smell. The taste is very well balanced. Something like a bourbon-infused hot chocolate, with vanilla and some dark cherries added to the mix. The mild sweetness is carefully hidden underneath everything else, making for a solid backbone. The aftertaste is bitter-sweet, with a spicy feeling on the back of the tongue. Very smooth texture, completing this excellent drinking experience.

Dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has dark chocolate, some sweet vanilla notes and a coffee astringency. Taste starts sweet with chocolate notes but gets quickly bitter with cacao flavor and roasted malt. Medium body with soft carbonation, quite dry on the finish. Overall it’s a quite balanced stout with bitter chocolate flavor.

Bottle: Poured a black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and slight lacing notes. Aroma of deep espresso coffee notes with dry roasted black chocolate malt notes. Taste is also dominated by dry espresso notes with some lightly bitter black chocolate notes that are also perceptible. Body is a little bit thin with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed with great variety of flavours that re well balanced between each other’s. My only negative point would be that body was a little bit thin for this beer.

330ml bottle.- from Cerveceria Freiburg (Barcelona) Black color headed by tan foam. Creamy & lasting crown leaves spots on sides. Fudge chocolate, vanilla, toasted, caramel & roasted coffee aromas. Gentle toasted upfront rounded by chocolate & vanilla on the backside. Full body. Soft carbonation. Viscous texture. ABV is shown as a gentle heat. Slight bitter punch & a very subtle fruity notes in the middle along with dark cocoa linger in a sweet finish. Complex aftertaste where coffee driness touched by hoppiness are swept out by brown sugar notes.

This one is by far one of the best Russian Imperial Stouts I've ever had.
It`s pours very thick dark-brown, it almost looks like a liquor.
The smell clearly ressembles the one of the dark-milky chocolate.
The taste is so good it`s riddiculous. You can clearly taste the chocolate, the expresso and the vanilla, altogether. My first drink on this was a surrealistic experience.
The after taste its the of a fresh well-done italian expresso.

The only flaw for me it`s on the lack of a creamy foam, thats the signature for stouts.

A - Pours like motor oil. No head. At 11%, that's no surprise. Lots of legs on the glass. Looks great.

S - espresso. Chocolate. Vanilla. Roasted malt. Smells like a beautiful, freshly brewed coffee.

T - Milk and dark chocolate. Vanilla cream. Fresh espresso. A nice smooth alcohol backbone.

F - Excellent. A little carbonation, but mostly thick and creamy.

O - imperial stout is my joint favourite style of beer, along with Double IPA's. Unfortunately, both styles are hard to find here. Luckily, my local drink store keeps a couple around throughout the year, and fortunately, I now work there so fingers crossed I can keep them there. This beer is currently my favourite brew on the market. It's pricey, but it's worth every penny. A phenomenal imperial stout from a fantastic craft ale brewery.

A: Almost headless. Hmm.
S: Nothing much, just metallic.
T: Vanilla extract/rumness. Very sticky, medicinal and sweet like a barley wine. A touch earthy.
O: Pretty good.

So my love affair with Wild Beer Co. shifts to another level. It began with Ninkasi and continued with the sours, and now this is my first imperial stout, and wow, it’s a beauty. Bottle bought in Market row Wines, Brixton. Colour is very dark brown, thick body, tan head. Nose is plasticky, lactic, dark fruit, prune, smooth chocolate, no yeastiness. Lots of milky chocolate and alcohol. Taste again is rich smooth dark chocolate, syrupy chocolate spread, cocao dust, thick luscious chocolatey body, creamy texture and mouthfeel, hints of prune and dark fruit. This is fantastic. Like liquid alcoholic chocolate. This is how I like my imperial stouts. Nose is restrained but flavour is stunning. Mouthful nice and oily chocolate. Wow.
