12 oz can with a January 2020 canning date stamp on the bottom. Served in a Belgian snifter.
Pours dark reddish-brown. The body is nearly opaque except for the garnet-ruby colored edges. There's a weak tan head that soon reduces to a thin ring.
Coffee dominates, but does not overpower the flavor which also has significant notes of chocolate and dark toast plus a light smokiness. Mild (low) sweetness for the style, or perhaps better to say relatively high bitterness.

Presentation: 12 oz. can with the canning date printed on the bottom. Served in a glass coffee mug.
Appearance: The dense, tan colored, one finger head goes away fairly quickly and leaves behind a thin foam layer and a lot of lacing that covers the entire glass. It's a deep, pure black color.
Smell: It's a strong smell of cocoa powder, ground coffee, malt and even a hint of molasses.
Taste: It's a sweet, milk chocolate and brown sugar flavor at first with a mildly strong bitter aftertaste of fresh roasted coffee and dark chocolate.
Mouthfeel: It's smooth and on the lighter side of things. In terms of body and substance there's not much there.
Overall: A typical milk stout with coffee flavor. It's lighter than average for the style which might not be great for some but it's definitely a plus in tropical weather or warmer climates.

Poured from the tap at the River Dog Brewing in SC. This is a one-off run in collaboration with a coffee house in Ridgeland. This beer has a great coffee aroma and it pours pitch black. The beer has minimal carbonation with an excellent smooth texture that compliments each other. A really good beer to try.
