A year old but held up well - other than the exploding one at the checkout.

Lucky Town Brewing Co. "Weevie Road"
12 fl. oz. can with a paper label. "BEST BY 12/17/18"
Look: Hazy light gold body beneath a two finger thick head of white foam. It looks like a Belgian witbier, but it at least has very good head retention. Tiny bubbles can be seen rising steadily within the glass. The lacing is unfortunately limited.
Smell: Sweet golden malt, yeast, yeasty spiciness, woodiness/earthiness, fruity with apple, citrusy. It smells almost Belgian but this is not the Ballistic Blonde, that's darker in color.
Taste: As the aroma suggests, it starts with sweetish and grainy malt with some yeast flavor (there's not too much so it's not bad) and yeasty fruitiness, spiciness and earthiness, and then displays additional citrusy hop notes. I'm finding apple, bruised apple, pear, and orange. Again, it's interesting in that it tastes almost Belgian. I don't think that's intentional. Have their yeasts accidentally crossed paths recently? However, and regardless, it's pretty good. It's far more interesting than a standard golden ale would be.
Feel: Medium-light in body with a soft caress on the tongue from a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation.
Overall: Although not what I expected from a "golden ale" it's actually quite tasty and interesting.

First had Weevie Road, brewed as a private label for “J&R Brewing,” the d/b/a name for the owner of a group of Outback steak restaurants, poured from 12-oz. can into faceted mug. Surprisingly light lemon-gold, this is an aggressive golden ale.

Very light yellow color with white cap and lacing.
Good aroma of fresh citrus hops (brewer only lists Cascade) but citrus is definitely there.
Taste on entry is a sense of smooth fullness, quickly sub-categorized into grain body and hops. Citrusy hops enough to notice but the IBU measure isn't really high, perhaps 25. There's something subtle, perhaps even sweet about the flavor that is more of a there presence rather a prominent one. Fairly simple brew, solid if unremarkable body and citrus is what we shake hands with on meeting and parting followed by a clean finish and a bit of citrus lingering.
Medium body with balancing carbonation.
Brewer's description isn't far off.
"A Light golden ale that has a light hop aroma of citrus. It is a refreshing yet subtly sweet ale with low hop bitterness and a brilliant white head".
Sweetness is indeed subtle, almost unnoticeable, while the hops stand out perhaps a bit more than the Brewer intended. I take a small exception to the word light though, any brew that's 6.5% ain't light.
