by Bierschenker from Belgium
I was strolling through the offerings at a beer shop. I picked this one as it was a DIPA and Poppel is a small rural community in the North of Belgium. I thought it was a very local low volume microbrew beer. Bit surprised it turned out to be a Swede. Not like Swedes are plentifull in our shops.
Hazy orange beer with a very thin head.
Scent gives oranges, pomgranate, grapefruit, fresh citrus hops, slight sweet malts .
Flavour is rich, creamy and full. modest, but obviously present bitterness. fruity and floral aroma, some honey sweetness. Dades, banana, mandarin orange and pancake dough.
This is extremely drinkable.

330 ml stubby bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8%. Orange colour, small white head. Aroma of fruity and piney hops, notes of orange marmalade. Fizzy mouthfeel. Citric and piney flavour, plenty of resinous bittering hops.

by Wer34truh from Minnesota
Pours a clear and calm looking dark cooper color.
Smell is clean, with subtle notes of mango and hay.
This is a straight-forward beer. Almost feels more worthy of IPA-status than DIPA. Some fruity and tropical fruit sweetness, but otherwise not much. Light body, moderate carbonation, and overall drinkable.
This beer manages to hit the overlap between good and boring.

Taste: Grapefruit, pine, sweet caramel malt, herbs and grass.
Medium body and light carbonation. Oily texture.
A great DIPA :)

The colour is copper (35 EBC), the liquid is clear. The two finger head is off-white and airy. It sinks quite quickly leaving no lacing.
The smell is smooth and quite sweet with elegant bitter flavours. Honey, plums, citric peels and some toffee.
The taste is very bitter and hoppy, there is a semi-sweet smoot malt backbone to balance the hops. Oranges, toffee, pine needles, raisins and some alcohol. Full body. The aftertaste is smooth and sweet with mixed citric fruits with some hot alcohol. Red apples, some minerals and floral hops in the finish.
The carbonation is medium strong, the mid-sized bubbles short-lived. The liquid is smooth, thick and sticky.
This DIPA is very much an East Coast one, that fucus on balance and elegance. Almost like an hopcentric barley wine. Luxurious!
