330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%, IBU 50. Deep golden colour, large white head. Aroma of malts, jam, sitrus and tropical fruits. The flavour is citric and refreshing, also with decent malts, and a resinous bitterness in the finish.

This a nice and clean 6.5% IPA that lends itself well to sunny Summer days. I like this beer much more than their Session IPA that I had the other day. It’s clean and crisp with subtle notes of stone fruit and fresh cut grass with a slightly dry and bitter finish.

Pours light orange / golden with off white head.
Aroma has lots of hops, malt sweetness, notes of caramel.
Taste is similar to the aroma, lots of hops and malt sweetness, I don't pick up on the tropical notes as described.

Pours a calm cooper color.
Smell is subdued, but distinctly of tropical fruit. Besides the fruity sweetness this felt rather straightforward.
Similar to the smell, the taste is rather subtle. However, that's not saying that there is nothing to this, just that everything is dialed down a bit more than necessary. There taste is dominated by tropical fruit, but there is also some malts, earthiness, and general bitterness courtesy of the hops. Mouthfeel light and drinkable, with above-average carbonation.
In general Poppels put out good beers that all fall a little bit short. It's always quality, and yet you always end up thinking "what if this was something more".

When you pour it, you get a somewhat hazy beer in yellow red color. The foam is white and somewhat thick. The foam disappears at a leisurely pace and leaving few traces yet. Here you are met by the hop tones and slightly roasted malt. A little tropical aromas of orange, grapefruit, pineapple, mango and a little. A little sweetness from Caramell malt. Some dried fruit with herbs at the end. The taste comes with a certain bitterness of the hops. But there are also some earthy flavors and tropical fruit. Here, orange, grapefruit, honey and some flowers. Towards the end, until the herbs with a little saltiness. Good aftertaste that remains a little short time, duration medium bitterness. Medium body. Moderate carbonation with big bubbles. Some semi-sweet and short in the flavors. Moderate bitterness.

The liquid is clear; the colour copper. The two finger head is off-white and compact. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing.
The smell is sweet with notes of caramel. Candy flavours. Pleasant bitter notes and some dried fruits.
The taste is a bit earthy. Semi-sweet malts and some brown sugar. Green/unripe hop flavours, some brown bread. Light to medium body. The light and short aftertaste got notes of alcohol, green plants, and log lasting medium strong bitterness.
The carbonation is fresh with mid-sized bubbles. The liquid is light and a bit sticky.
An OK AIPA, but not bitter enough. I think it lacks focus.

A: A very tall white compact head fills the glass (obviously there is at least some wheat in this one). After slow dissipation that leaves great lacings the clear golden brew appears.
S: Caramell malt, somewhat sweet, together with bitter hops as well as floral; that brings tropical fruityness; grapefruits, pineapples, mangos and papaya. Well balanced.
T: Bitter hops up front together with bready (rye) malts, sweet. But after just a little while there's tropical fruits from the floral hops (follows the smell). Nettles and grass.
M: Aftertaste lingers for quite some time and is lovely bitter. Body is on the fuller side while the carbonation is held back.
O: This is my first Poppelmans, and I really enjoyed it. Well crafted.
