Notes: Welcome to Monocacy Brewing Company where our focus is on crafting quality beer. We are proudly brewing our award winning beers in the old Ebert’s Ice Cream plant located in historic Downtown Frederick. At Monocacy Brewing Company we strive to be a great neighbor and representative of Frederick’s local allure.
Opened for production in November of 2011, Monocacy Brewing Company crafts unique, full-flavored ales and lagers. Our staff of talented and experienced brewers are committed to promoting the use of fresh, local ingredients and releasing a portfolio of beer styles that appeals to all beer drinkers’ tastes The brewery also functions as a contract bottling facility for Frederick County’s original brewpub, Brewer’s Alley. The exceptional gift of our production team is realized when each bottle and glass of Monocacy Brewing Company beer gets served.
Our brewery and tasting room are open to the public. Join us for one of our regularly scheduled brewery tours and enjoy a taste of a flavorful and genuine Maryland beer.
The Tasting Room hours:
Thursday and Friday – 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Saturday – 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with brewery tours departing the tasting room at 12:15 pm, 1:15 pm, 2:15 pm, and 3:15 pm
Sunday – 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Found Rdaiance at Craftbrews in Fairfax. Liked it so much we spent an hour on a Sat. and took a tour at Monocacy Brewery in Frederick Md. Great staff there and very friendly. Co dos to Erin she knows her beer. If you happen to go try their Riot Rye also.

This place is a gem. It is a small space where you will get one-on-one help from the friendly staff. The beer is really quite excellent and the tour is a lot of fun. Riot Rye and Brewtus are worth the trip.

A promising up and comer. A solid core of delicious brews followed by their urge to experiment. The staff are knowledgable and very friendly. I cannot wait to see what they come up with next!

Cool vibe. Knowledgeable staff. Came to the area to visit flying dog. But I was so glad to have visited this place as well!!

Best brewery in Frederick. They don't brew a million beers but the ones they do, they do incredibly well. Staff are friendly, tap room is welcoming and the short tour is great. Not much room for sure, but it's great to walk into a place after the second or third weekend and have them remember your face. I'll be coming back til I'm too fat to fit through the door. Also, as a bonus it's right next to an awesome home brew shop.

Small but nice and clean with good service. Had a good time with the staff and other customers. The selection is good, you can tell from the selection they are trying new things.

Visited here on a Saturday afternoon... easy to find and connected to a homebrew shop.
Tasting room is pretty small; just a small bar and only two tables with a handful of seats. I think adding some seating would be a nice plus, however the place is very neat and clean inside and accommodating.
They had 5 beers on tap, three of which were their core offerings and two limited releases. Sampling flights were $5 to sample all 5, and you even get to keep the tasting glass. Pints and growler fills were also available along with 6 packs to go.
The beers were tasty, ranging from above average to excellent. Brewtus and Napoleon Complex were both fantastic stouts. The employees were super friendly and the vibe of the place was really laid back.
Would have been nice to see a few more beers being offered, but if you're in town checking out Flying Dog, I would highly suggest also checking this place out too. Great beers and great people.

Small taproom and limited seating but the bar keeps are super friendly guys, and the brew team frequently is coming in and out of the back area and always will to have some discussions with the patrons. They have been doing some amazing small batch releases that they rotate every few weeks. Experimenting with rare styles that few brewers even dare to try to craft, and also making hybrid brews that few other brewers have the guts to try to pull off. The brewmasters here can pull off nearly any/all styles of beer at a very high level. Occassionally hitting something in world class caliber. Nothing amateur about this operation at all. Highly recommend to visit to sample their beers. No food offered, and as mentioned a little tight squeeze in a small taproom, but because it is small and intimate, it creates an environment for conversation with others and barkeeps. Nice outdoor beer garden area under some trees, but not very good views (noisy road right in front and strip mall across the street.
