Dark brown in body with ruby highlights and a 2 1/2 finger tan head that leaves a rather thick, attractive lacing.

Aroma of orange, orange peel, dark chocolate, and sweet malt syrup.

Taste is redolent of orange backed by bitter chocolate. A hint of sweetness in the end. The chocolate is more evident early on, becoming more subtle as you go.

Moderate+ in body, but light for a milk stout. A light sting of carbonation and a bit puckery and drying in the end. Some light creaminess as well, but not what I'm used to in a milk stout.

Overall, this is a really good beer. It's a bit light for a milk stout, but the orange/chocolate combination is spectacular.

A: Black ody, with a nice light tan head.

S: That is some sweet juicy orange! Followed up by cocoa and dark malt.

T: Bit of an odd duckling, starts off with a blast of citrus, followed by bitter hops, and a touch of pith. The chocolate is there but it doesn't quite stand up to the mark the orange made. The finish is earthy bitter, and seems a bit out of sorts.

M: Fairly light bodied, with moderate carbonation. And an oily bitter cling.

O: Overall interesting, but I wish it was a touch more decadent.

This is a disappointing stout. It pours very pretty, and the smell is promising, but it falls down after that.

It's a beauty - a pancake head of fine bubbles dissipates into some lacing. The aroma is sweet and has hints of orange. The taste misses. It is clean tasting but an odd balance is struck with the brew being light on all fronts - malts, hops, adjuncts. Everything is there, and not really that light, but nothing stands out and the tastes don't complement each other that well. It improves slightly as it warms, with some roasty tastes poking through.

Not recommended. Look for a better take on the style elsewhere.

From the left side of the label above the barcode: "PARKED ON 11/01/17 09:58 170086"

Appearance: The body of the beer is black with some hints of brown around the edges of the glass. The head is large and khaki colored. The head has a slightly foamy and slightly creamy consistency. It has very good head retention and lacing. It is a picture perfect beer.

Aroma: There is a light, slightly acrid, burnt aroma with a touch of what smells like a tootsie roll.

Taste: It has a lightly roasted flavor with a touch of a metallic and carbon tinge.

Mouthfeel: The body is medium and slightly bitter. There is a slightly chalky finish to the beer.

Overall: The beer calls itself a "CHOCOLATE ORANGE MILK STOUT" but it never delivers on any of this. There is a bit of tootsie roll aroma but it isn't enough to justify this beer. It is a decent, average, stout with a touch of chocolate aroma so if that is what you are looking for then this would be for you. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it and I wouldn't buy it again.

Poured on tap in a snifter, the beer is jet black, with a thin, clingy, light tan head. Aromas of heavily roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and hints of orange rind. Flavors are robust coffee and char forward, bitter and subtly smoky. There is a follow of sweet zest ed orange rind, followed by a ribbon of orange and tangerine sweetness. Thin bodied, which doesn't really support the style or the flavor profiles. The aftertaste has an essence of the orange characteristics, but they are quickly swallowed up by the coffee and char. The finish is thin and dry, with the roasted and char blend lingering on. It had a promising start.

The sublime honesty of the packaging of this beer rivals products made at the turn of the previous century.
Doesn't taste like a milk stout which is ok with me. Does have the chocolate and orange thing going on perfectly. If this blend was branded Sam Adams I think it would be "viral".
I kind of skip smell and Mouth feel on ratings, this is not a real big beer
Overall I think that if you are a DIPA guy you will like this in the winter because the it's got a similar, yet wintery feel. None of the weirdness of a holiday ale just a good balance of chocolate and orange like an ipa balance of hops and malt. If that is a legit thing to say.

Deep dark color with nice tan head that leaves quickly leaving just a smattering of lacing in spots. Aromas are heavy in orange and orange extract with just a touch of chocolate if you think real hard. Orange and chocolate are decent in this beer but they are overpowered a bit by a soapy taste and feel. Doesn't get any better as it warms.
