Humm BPA is not a style, not if ORval is in it.

this was a decent hop bomb ale. Looked nice but frankly I still not tasting any Belgian yeast.
no Brett if again Orval is in the style then its way way off.

now call it a plain old Pale ale and then you got something.

looks like any other PA poured into a tasting glass.

taste/smell is where its a great 3 hop combo. easy to drink but again its in IPA range IMHO.
after taste is pure hoppy pine tar.
good beer would drink again with something hot.

just quick and dirty for me

On tap

Appearance - Deep straw when held up to a light. Amber color when in hand. Slight 1/2" off white head that slims down to about 1/8". Very slight (almost unnoticeable) lacing.

Aroma - Tropical fruit, banana, and Juicy Fruit gum. Amazing.

Taste - Juicy Fruit gum, banana, and a hint of clove. Incredible taste.

Mouthfeel - Maybe the slightest bit more carbonation would benefit, otherwise perfect from my experiences.

Overall - One of the better BPA's I've had. Absolutely great. Spot on.

On tap at the brewery.

Pours with an amber body that has good clarity and is topped by a weak head that leaves little lacing.

Medium-full body with medium-light carbonation.

Coriander and other spices, bread, yeast, over ripe soft fruits.

O: OK for style.

I tried this beer at the Omni Hotel in downtown J'ville. It poured a clear copper with no head and no lace. The scent was common to most Belgian ipas. The taste was a little bit heavy on the Belgian clove spice and slightly bitter which made it not as easy to drink. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with subtle carbonation. Overall it was average.

Pours a nice and bright orange yellow with a touch of haze and a thin quarter finger of foam that dissipates to a thin ring around the edge of glass.

At first whiff I am greeted by a pleasant amount of fruitiness, both of fruity esters of the Belgian yeast as well as a noticeable hop profile of fruity hops. As expected from the style there is a nice herbal, floral, and yeasty spice character as well.

The hop profile definitely shines in this take on the style, notes of citrus & tropical fruit lend more fruitiness to the Belgian yeast fruity character, while notes of clove, banana, and spices emerge as well.

Light-medium bodied, medium-high carbonation, creamy smooth, soft mouthfeel.

I was able to sample this during my visit to the brewery and I'm glad I had the opportunity! Between this and their other Belgian styles they really have a grasp on how to knock the Belgian styles out of the park.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a semi-burnt orange to copper sort of color with a wisp of a white foamy head that fell off pretty quick. No lace. The aroma had some cracker/white bread tones, subtle earthiness, light clove, some banana, floral, slight bubblegum and a little bit of coriander at the very end. The flavor was a blend of the prior mentioned aromas - sweet to semi-spicy flowing gently into the aftertaste. Quick little bite of a finish with the clove. The palate was just a tad under medium bodied with a decent sessionable feel to it. Some acceptable dryness rolled around my tongue. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good. Overall, it fits as a Belgian pale ale, I could do this again.
