My wife and I chose this place because there were some vegan options on the menu. Also, this was the week before Mother's Day, and there wasn't that much going on in Bar Harbor.

We liked the atmosphere, kind of a grunge/Portlandia feeling. The bar seats around 10, and ther are tables and hightops in the bar area. There's a large patio outdoors, with a few more tables.

Nine beers on tap: Allagash White, Bar Harbor Real Ale, Stowaway IPA, Black Bear Stout, Brooklyn Lager, Coal Porter, Longtrail Pale Ale, SN Pale Ale, and PBR. There was also a Maine cider on tap. A larger bottle selection was available. I had the Bar Harbor Real Ale, which I've always liked. My wife enjoyed a vodka Arnold Palmer.

My wife ordered a Lompoc Tikka, and I had the peanut noodles. Both were good, but very salty. The salt seemed to arise from the breaded fried tofu. If I'm back there again, I would ask them to do the tofu differently, because the dishes were otherwise tasty.

Service was spotty. We had to ask for water three times, and we waited a long while for the check. On the positive side, the food arrived piping hot. While it was a Friday night, the place wasn't that busy.

Overall, we liked the vibe of this place. The beer list was adequate. The food was good. Service could improve. I would go there again.

We thought the place was great. Wandered in there after kayaking on a Saturday afternoon this August. Sat in the patio and met some nice people. Tasty food. Impressive selection of beers, bottled and draft. I opted for the Smuttynose IPA and my friend went for the Allagash White Ale. When we heard there was live music we came back that night and it was outstanding. The crowd was in a dancing mood and the place was shaking. They have a bocce court in the patio area so we took on a couple locals; wound up buying them a couple beers (a Pabst and a Long Trail Pale Ale, if you ever heard of it. From Vermont apparently).

Had heard about the Lompoc from Beerfly, so decided to try it out on a trip to Bar Harbor last weekend. It was right near our bed and breakfast, so it was the first place we stopped by in the evening.

The atmosphere wasn't quite what I was expecting... it really is more of a cafe than a bar in feel... floors are hard tile, with some seating scattered throughout, and some seats at the bar. Service was great though; our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. They had about 12 beers or so on tap; I had an Allagash White, followed by a Gearhead Red Ale (this was the only place in town I saw this particular beer all weekend).

Definitely worth a stop, but the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired.

When we go on our annual vacation in Bar Harbor, the Lompoc Cafe one of our favorite spots - the outdoor patio/bocce area is wonderfully shaded (complete with breeze, usually) and perfect for hot Summer days. It's been pretty warm this week, and an Allagash White on the patio is just the thing . . .

During our visit, here's what was available:

Tap:
Atlantic Brewing Company: Bar Harbor Real Ale, Coal Porter, Island Ginger, Bar Harbor Blueberry, Special Old Bitter
Guiness Stout
SNPA
PBR
Smuttynose IPA
Unibroue Maudite
Long Trail Ale
Widmer Hefeweizen
Allagash White
Stella Artois
Geary's Summer Ale

Bottles:
Atlantic Brewing Co. Brother Adam's Bragget
Lendemann's Framboise
Miller High Life
Miller Lite
Corona
Woodchuck Cider
Schlitz in a can

Service when we were there (early afternoon) was great - very prompt and friendly. Very laid back setting, and the menu was pretty good with lots of local organic choices. I had a catfish wrap that was quite tasty.

If you're in the area, do check out the Lompoc Cafe. It's on a sidestreet, but is not hard to find - it's right next to one of the municipal parking lots.

Stopped in for lunch on my recent trip up to the northeast. Little cafe a little bit off the main drag, but an easy walk from our Inn. Both indoor & outdoor seating. A little steamy the day we were there, and sitting outside was actually cooler than sitting inside.
Nice outdoor area, with a bocce ball set-up. Lots of signs around alluding to it's history as a brewpub. Has a decent selection of beer, including most of the Atlantic Brewing Company selections on-tap. Food was good, service was above average. Decent place, that I would certainly return to if I'm ever back in the area.

there are many bars in bar harbor (no pun intended). there are only a few good ones. and the lompoc is one of those. they have a limited season which is the biggest downfall of the lompoc. there are about 20 beers on tap and even though they are no longer owned by atlantic brewing i believe the lompoc is the only bar with the whole atlantic lineup on in bar harbor. they also always have guinness on tap and a good selection of micros as well as a good selection of whiskeys and a full bar. the food is interesting. no really bar food but not too fancy. i can't really describe it but i always find something good to eat. service is always sort of, well, relaxed. don't be in a hurry if you stop by. a darn fine place to have a beer and the best place right in bar harbor.
