A - Transparent rusty copper body with only the most minimal carbonation visible. Thin head and increadible lacing.
S - Malty with a fresh hoppyness.
A - Brilliantly malty, dry, slightly bitter. The initials flavors are really soft maltyness, with a woody and tobacco mid-palate and a finish that is a wonderful blend of bitterness and lightly sweet caramel flavors.
M - Super silkly and mild carbonation. GREAT!!!
D - This is a great beer!!! Great to sip after dinner while unwinding.

Cloudy amber appearance with a thin head and spotty lacing. Woodsy, malty aroma with a hint of spice. Well carbonated with a mild fruit taste and a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Tart, dry finish.

Poured from the 50cl can in Paris.

Smell is slightly fruity with toast and bread backbone. Hard to pick out a specific aroma. Light tinge of alcohol in there.

Taste has a bit of a funky side to it up front but smooths out with plum and toast. Some yeast thoughout but only about as much as, say, a Belgian dubbel, which this kind of compares to. Some spices and earth in the middle. Finishes relatively light for a beer this strength.

Overall very drinkable, especially for the price in the shop. A nice change due to the spice character. Could pair well with lots of dishes and snacks.

Amber Ale is an American invention, right? Well the French did a damn good job on this one.

Picked up 24 bottles on a whim - as the case was on sale...

7.5% abv, pours a clear amber with a tight white head of compact bubbles which settle into a laced ring relatively quickly.

On the nose, subtle saison (barnyard funk) smells - yeast layered upon a solid malt backbone.

On the mouth, up front - light and effervescent with taste following the nose and the taste is consistent through the middle to back of mouth with enough hops and effervescence to cleanse the palette -

Slight warming all the way down...

Overall, a real nice table bier, will age a few to see how the flavors evolve,

A solid purchase.

Pours a clear amber color. A ginormous head displays excellent retention and sticky lacing throughout.

Aromas of spiced fruit laced with a touch of alcohol. It reminds me of one of those fruit salad desserts soaked in rum or brandy.

The taste follows the nose with fruity notes of apricot, apple cider, white raisins and peach, all spiced with a cinnamon like flavor, peppery phenols and alcohol spice. Sweet malt notes of honey and sugar are nevertheless offset by a dry finish that displays some hops bitterness.

Medium bodied, smooth and lively carbonated. Drinks like a fruity cider with a dry finish. Less rustic and sweeter than a Saison. I don’t know much about the style, however, I enjoyed this.

Not as misty as some report from this can bought in Saumur. Pours dark ruddy brown with an effervescent head that rather quickly settles leaving the beer looking rather flat. Aroma slight toasty grain - flavour: caramel, chewy, nutty finish.
