Stopped in here recently on the way back from the airport, on the way to Sandy's Bakery & Deli down the street. Didn't bother adding it because there's less craft beer here than any random store in town.

Outside it looked like any old liquor store, macro neons and faded signage. Although there are large signs that say "We have Bourbon County Stout" and "Hopslam sold here". Sounded promising...

Inside was pretty much the same impression, a dingy store with busted floors and stacks of Old Style and High Life as far as the eye could see. Where are the beer shelves? There were only macro cases on the floor, and out of 8 cooler doors, only one had any craft beer. What they had was okay but extremely limited. Bells, Goose, Deschutes, DFH, and not much else. Yes they had Hopslam, there was no Bourbon County. So about 1/8th of the store is craft, and the majority was a bunch of macro junk. Beermenus lists a whopping 28 beers, again about what fits in one cooler door.

At the counter there was a bottle of Madame Rose sitting there, again odd as this was mostly a macro-dedicated store. As i'm paying, the clerk suddenly goes "Did you get any Black Note?" which was weird since this was a week before it actually hit Chicago. So of course I say no, and he says "We already sold through 5 cases". I knew then that he must be the guy posting on BA "there's a store near where I work (wink, wink) that has all the rarwhalez". It seemed like they recently discovered craft beer, and gleaned that posing as a fake customer on the BA forums was somehow a good marketing strategy. Not really helping anyone here but themselves. Kind of a weird experience here to say the least.

There was one bottle of BCS Coffee in the cooler for $22.99 (same user posted $19 & 19.99 in the forum - linked above, nice little bait & switch).

Some constructive criticism... clear out a few more cooler doors and bring in more craft, maybe add a display up front, because currently the store doesn't hold a candle to Fischman's down the street. Stop posing as a phony customer in the BA forums. Use social media, but be honest about affiliations... meaning don't try to shill review your own store here either, that would be incredibly lame.
