A 330ml bottle with a BB of July 2014, so it's just out of date. ABV is stated as 3.8%. Acquired a while back from Beeritz.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A light, hazy golden hue with some floating sediment and good carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer.

S: Aroma of fruity yeast esters with lemony overtones; hints of sharp lemon/lemongrass, subtle spice, earthiness, grain, faint grass/hay and a touch of stewed herbs.

T: Tastes of fruity yeast esters with a lingering dry finish. Notes of tart lemon, lemongrass, dry spice, earthiness, mild grain, grass/hay and faint stewed herbs. A twinge of sourness in the background. Highly attenuated, followed by a prolongued yeastiness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and a light, insubstantial body. The lemongrass stimulates the tongue ever so slightly. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of herbal lemongrass, stewed leaves and yeast esters.

O: A rather nice saison - the sharp lemon notes pair well with the fruitiness of the yeast. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour achieve a satisfying balance between the yeast esters and the lemongrass. Little bitterness. Thin body but not unexpected for the strength. A twinge of harshness in the background but perhaps that's due to age. Partizan produce another good stab at the style that goes down easily; worth trying if you come across it.

330ml Bottle, shared with the wife at the new French Crepe unit in Shrewsbury Market Hall on 19th Oct 2013.

Came out a cloudy yellow/orange with a small head that vanished pretty swiftly.

Fresh and lively it gave off aromas of citrus and yeasts, the taste a tart citrus flavour.

Not really my type of beer, but I enjoyed the hop bitterness and slightly sour feel it had. My first Partizan brewed beer, I'll have another when I re-visit Shrewsbury.

On tap at the brewery, Bermondsey, London.

Thin film over hazy lemon yellow.
Fragrant Thais nose with some lemon oil and tart sour underneath.
Creamy wheat, then musky citrus, white pepper phenols, some Sicilian lemon rind, and a grassy end.
More lemongrass to finish and slightly tart linger.
Light, crisp, clean, creamy.

Lemongrass is there, all right, but how much is it a saison? Lemon/pepper is very light, there’s no anise. More just a Belgian (very) pale. But mega-sessionable at this strength.
