Totally forgettable. Very little aroma, no initial bitterness, minimal flavor, and the orange finish left me with an odd aftertaste. There are some excellent hazy IPAs from California but for me, this is not one of them.

Saw the hop recipe on the 16oz can....Amarillo, Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic...and grabbed 3.
With that 'Murderers Row' of hops, how could this be anything but great ?!

Well, it was gawdawful swill. What a shameful waste of 4 tremendous hops.....no hop flavors at all. Zero.
To the point where I question the veracity of the brewery's disclosure. Seriously.

A flat, murky, juice milkshake. Exactly what I hate...but so many fools currently love. There was ZERO indication on the can that this was anything but straightforward IPA ..not "hazy", not "juicy" not, "NE style"...none of the trigger words that everyone else so proudly use to move such "product"....( read the Notes/Commercial Description on this page)
And when it comes in a can, well guess what? The customer can't even get a hint of it, like they can with a bottle.

So I was truly POed. I threw out the one I opened, and I was able to return the other 2. The store was just great for that.
But the brewery? I will never be buying anything from Belching Beaver again.

A horribly disappointing beer experience. But BA doesn't allow a zero rating.

This is my favorite beer...right now.

I love the marriage between a West Coast and NE IPA. I realize those are just subjective terms, but to me this ale does the following:

-provides a bitter ale with a strong sense of juiciness without becoming a total “juice bomb”

-there’s a funkiness to the otherwise tropical citrus explosion

To top it all of I pay about $2.20 a pint can for this so it’s relatively cheap and the can is so easy.

Hazy, citrus plus funky dankiness = a huge winner. For me one of all my all time favorite ales.

Appearance: Cloudy and honey colored, the pour results in a rather modest cap though there is a jiggly pattern of lacing across the glass

Smell: Tough to pull the aromatics here, though there is clearly a tropical element; kiwi, berry and guava, perhaps

Taste: What was difficult to detect in the aroma comes through much better on the taste buds as the kiwi and berry tones launch with the guava building through the middle; very restrained bitterness here, with some graham cracker adding sweetness to the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Very enjoyable but still, a bit of a wuss when it comes to the bitterness factor

A good bit of pine-resin with some citrus bitterness coming into play. A west-coast IPA.

Hazy yellow-orange with almost two fingers of soapy, off-white head that last a surprisingly long while. Clumpy lacing.

Grass and strong citrus (lemon, clementine and grapefruit) mix up front in the nose, with a little melon behind. It definitely has a very summery air to it.

The taste is a bit more muted. There's still a solid citrus undertone, but a malt sweetness cuts through mixing water crackers, yellow cake and even a hint of buttery pound cake. This all gives way to an herbal note and a lightly pithy, bitter citrus aftertaste.

It's medium bodied and well carbonated with a slightly creamy feel that the long-lasting head certainly contributes to.

A delightful, pleasure of a beer. 12/01/17 canned on date.

Thank you y2kawakami for this
16 oz bottle, dated 12/1/17, poured into a teku

A- A hazy golden straw with a three finger white head

S- Citrus, melons, oranges, piney, some wet grass

T- Citrus, some tropical fruits, some sweet melons, touch of pale malts, slightly piney finish.

M- Smooth, medium body, slightly creamy.

O- I honestly can’t believe this is 4 months, it still tasty great. Very happy I got two cans, if I could buy this locally it would be a go to IPA.

Pours a hazy honey yellow with a thick white head that lingers and leaves great lacing. The aroma is light citrus and pine. The flavor is a little malt forward, likely due to the fact that this beer is three months old. For that reason I'll excuse that. Still has some nice citrusy hop bite and just a tad dank. The feel is light and crisp. Nice beer.

Can from Boise Co-op. Yes, another NE IPA. Ok, I get it. Flavor du jour.. Hazy, citrus, blah blah blah. Drinkable,...yes! Exciting...not really. Decent? Yes. But lost on the crowd of this overdone style. Kneejerks just gotta stop...
