Exceptional IPA from a great brewery that I'm getting to know. This IPA looked absolutely fantastic - pours a nice lighter amber-golden color with some fluffy white head and sheets of abundant lacing that lasted forever. I enjoyed this beer over 30 minutes and the lacing did not fade away like I expected. Smells of some nice citrus hops - grapefruit, orange, passion fruit, guava, pineapple - as well as some more faint malt, floral hops and caramel. I was a little surprised by how muted the aromas were, and the same goes for the flavors. All excellent, and taste followed the nose, but it wasn't as forward and bright as I expected. Perhaps this IPA mellowed out a little too much? There was no visible date anywhere on the bottle. Smooth, mild, enjoyable, very slightly creamy mouthfeel with decent carbonation. I would have loved more hoppy bitterness or more of a crisp bite at the end, but the juiciness of the flavors and the soft feel still did it for me. Great work from a great brewery!

Great looking copper beer with lots of cloudiness and a thin tan head. Tropical fruit aroma mixed with the expected hops. Tastes of slight guava and pineapple. Great mouthfeel. Another great beer from Deftones and BB! Prost!

Draft at PreFunk. Deep golden pour, small scant head. Aroma is orange peel, flowers and hand soap. Taste is mildly sweet, more floral notes, bitter orange. Sweet, oily and bitter.

Copper and cloudy with lots of very fine bubbled, slow and storm like, rising bubbles. Topped with 4 fingers of yellowish head, with both large and small bubbles. Leaves a nice, glassy, lacing.

Smells of guava, passion fruit, big and hoppy, oranges and grapefruits. Sweet and fruity, like thick nectar.

Fruity and hoppy, thick and sweet, with big, hoppy notes. Hints of pot, earthy weed, and grapefruit pith. Tastes like it might have lost some hop strength based on Phantom Bride I had within the last month that came to the store at the same time as this brew. Solid, bitter finish.

Moderate but syrupy body, medium to low carbonation.

Excellent brew. Definitely world class, just would have liked to had it a month ago. Fruity, complex, and hoppy. Purchased and drinking in Chiang Mai, Oct 2nd, 2017.

Bottled on 4th of July 2017. Poured into wine glass. Consumed 8/6/17

Smells exactly like POG with some citrusy hop resins in the mix. I love this smell, one of my favorite tropical blends for juice. The taste is a bit short of expectation. Fairly thin and abrupt end to the tropical flavors. The clear POG presence and citrusy/tropical/sweetness is followed by minimal bitterness and minimal body. The finish is fairly clean and not dry. I feel like this beer would benefit greatly from a greater hop resin presence and maybe even a slightly larger malt profile to thicken the body. That being said, this brew is very refreshing.

Poured from a bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Nearly clear medium golden pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head. Great lacing.

S: Ridiculously tropical. Super fruity, citrus... pineapple, and even a bit of strawberry.

T/F: Medium malt presence... some definite sweetness with a huge fruit-forward hop profile. Citrus, mango, pineapple... guava, and I'm still picking up a bit of strawberry which doesn't make a lot of sense. Delicious... medium in body. Sticky on the tongue. Finish is more fruit.

O: An outstanding tropical fruit forward IPA. Head and shoulders above the crowd... just excellent, and wishing I'd ordered another bottle or 6.

Poured on tap a slightly hazed light orangish yellow under a thin 1/2 inch thick white head which leaves splotchy lace. Aroma is pure POG (pineapple, orange, guava) juice. Flavor is mostly pineapple tropical fruits. Semi-medium body and semi-moderate carbonation. Finishes fruity and slightly bitter/dry. A tad on the thin side, but refreshing.

Pours a light gold with lingering head. The smell....OH THE SMELL!!! It is sweet tropical fruits and the taste follows with just enough hop bitterness to remind you this is an IPA. If this were an unfiltered IPA with slightly more hop profile, it would be a top 250 beer that everyone was looking for on the trade forum!

Belching Beaver's last collaberation with Chino Moreno, Phantom Bride, became my new favorite beer from the brewery, so naturally when I saw this, it was an instant-buy. No questions asked. The retro label is a nice touch for summer as well.

Pours surprisingly clear and light gold, small fluffy head that lingers. The aroma of this one is outstanding. I actually pick up huge apricot aromas up front even though they aren't mentioned on the label, followed by the mentioned orange and guava. Passion fruit is subtle but there, along with pineapple, lime and juicy hops. The amalgam of fruits in here create a tropical overload and teleported me straight to Tahiti on a crisp summer day.

Taste is juice and fruit goodness; guava, grapefruit, apricot, passion fruit, pineapple, lime, orange zest, light pine and hop bitterness. Not overly bitter, letting the tropical aspects shine and end with a nice, smooth and light finish.

I'll be pairing plenty of my hot summer days with one of these. Kudos to Deftones for knowing their beer.

L: this thing looks great. Clear with a bunch of bubbles moving up from the bottom.
S: the smell might be even better. Tropical fruits and melon, like watermelon bubble gum, good hop smell at the end.
T: this is a juice bomb all the way. Tons of fruit flavors with a good amount of balanced hops.
F: medium bodied with a smooth feel and a semi-dry finish.
O: this is one of my 2 or 3 favorite fruit forward IPA's. Want more of this right now.
