Collaboration with Coronado Brewing Company
Of all the collaborations we’ve done, this one with Coronado Brewing Company speaks of family. I can say there have been years of mentoring and sound advice – and to celebrate this relationship we’ve come together to brew a Double Dry-Hopped Hazy IPA. We literally doubled our dry-hopping regimen to create a layering of flavors that showcase the individual hop characteristics. Mosaic, Idaho 7, Citra and Motueka hops round out this silky smooth beer with notes of melon, pineapple and citrus.

16oz can - if this had been brewed at Coronado, would they have called it 'Hair & Scale'?
This beer pours a murky, medium golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, rocky, and bubbly eggshell white head, which leaves some decent splattered and sudsy lace around the glass as it lazily sinks out of sight.
It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, muddled domestic citrus rind, faint canned pineapple, some flinty stoniness, and plain earthy, musty, and dead floral hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, some orange, lemon, and red grapefruit citrus peel, faded pineapple core, some damp minerality, and more understated leafy, weedy, and piney hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly tame in its milquetoast frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and generally smooth, with a wee airy creaminess slowly arising as things warm up a tad around here. It finishes off-dry, the malt and mixed frooty esters exhibiting the most lingering moxie.
Overall - this comes across as a pleasant enough version of the style, nice and fruity and, yes, hazy. Imma just gonna sip on the rest of this while I hibernate in the basement, as we've returned to the deep freeze, once again, it seems, in bloody March.

16 oz can from Boise Co-op. Another entrant into the hazy game, lining up with all of the others, not much sets this apart. Textbook NEIPA, milky golden pour, light citrusy aroma, minor tartness. Tasty and drinkable, for sure, but just good.

Solid, albeit unspectacular New England style IPA.... Nice citrus nose... decent, but an unexciting feel and taste... I am not familiar with the two Brewers that collaborate on this, but the quality is certainly here and I will seek them out in the future

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden orange amber with a kinda fizzy off white head that mostly settles out quickly and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Big tropical and orchard fruit, a little citrus, earthly slightly herbal notes, bready biscuity malt, and caramel malt sweetness.
T: Big time fruity, pineapple, papaya, melon, pear, apricot, peach, and mango, and cherry, citrus, lime, lemon, and orange, a touch of pine, earthy slightly herbal notes, bready slightly biscuity malt, and deep caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, somewhat soft on the palate.
O: Really nice collab with a cool hop combo.

Had from can dated 3.20.19
This drinks more like a subtle belgian/hazy IPA; some slightly sweet wine-like qualities; good but not great - certainly unique

Type: 16-oz. can
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass

Had been itching to try this and finally saw it a Trader Joe’s. Had been digging Belching Beaver’s cans and Coronado recently has been putting out some good stuff (finally). Can description read, “Of all the collaborations we’ve done, this one with Coronado Brewing Company speaks of family. Poured a medium yellow-to-gold hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of white head. Could see some fast moving bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled big whiffs of Mosaic and Citra up front, followed by Idaho 7. Could tell right away that it was dry-hopped. Also pineapple, red grapefruit, papaya, mango, guava, orange and sugary tangerine. Got Mosaic, Citra and Idaho 7 from the can, but still no Motueka. (Smell - 4.50)
Taste was not as good as the nose, but that would be pretty hard to do (especially since I bought it warm). In order got Mosaic, Citra, Idaho 7, earthy malt, pineapple, red grapefruit, guava, mango, papaya, tangerine, tropical and citrus zest. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Dry finish. (Feel - 4.00)
This was an excellent hazy IPA overall. Wow. Will be interesting to see if there is the inconsistency from batch-to-batch (or even can-to-can) like there is from Phantom Bride. But this was excellent. (Overall - 4.25)
