a collaboration with revision, sneaky strong, this drinks way light for what it is, look out! a bunch of sexy hops in this not quite clear brew, frothy white headed from the tap, oddly light in body, good carbonation, dry for its strength but off dry in actuality, clean and bright and fresh and maybe not quite as unique as some of the best hoppy ones from either of these breweries, but i will not turn my nose up at an ipa this well refined and modern. lots of citrus to me, meyer lemon, tangerine, that sort of thing, and without much bitterness in the flavor, although not none either. some honey character to the grain which is nice with a soft floral element in the hops, lots of synergy and cohesiveness in this. the hops are juicy, and i get some passion fruit and pineapple too in here, a slightly longer finish but not boozy or sugary. nice with salty foods and even almost refreshing to drink, crazy at this strength. not as different as i had hoped, but i liked it very much, its lighter than many in this bigger ipa style, seems right on for the oncoming warmer weather too. no complaints.

Review #1429
Belching Beaver has been a hit or miss for me with their offerings. The last couple of beers that I have drunk were just par. Their peanut butter stout was the best offering I have drunk. This beer was pricy at four dollars a can. The temperature of the beer is 46 degrees and served in a tulip glass. The pour of the beer created a two-fingered head. The white foam of the beer is airy and frothy. The head slowly dissipated and left chunky lacing on the glass. The color of the beer is SRM 6, a golden yellow with amber hues. This beer is not hazy.
The primary aromas I recognize are grapefruit, herbal, biscuit, and a touch of resin. Nosing further in the glass, I smell oranges, floral, toasted malts, malty sweetness, bread, hay, and grassy.
The flavors in the beer are oranges, grapefruit, herbal, biscuit, a hint of a dank, musty basement, floral, malty sweetness, honey, hay, grassy, resin, pine, and a touch of herbal.
The mouthfeel of the beer is astringent and coating.
The body of the beer is medium, medium-low carbonation, and a fuller finish.
The beer is 3 months old. I detected the fading hop profile. The malts in the beer are overbearing and somewhat sweet. This beer is a monster but wanted more finesse from the beer. I wanted more harmony in the beer. The one thing I do not like about this beer is too sweet.

Clear golden amber brew with long lasting cap of foam in the Affligem chalice. Sweet, fruity, and tangy. Not as acidic as many current IPAs, but delicious carbonation and sharpish edge. Aromatic with mango and tangerine. Pleasantly sweet to go with the high octane. Tastes of mango, orange, and tangerine peel. Moderate bitterness and the tongue tickling acidity in the aftertaste.
Rich, warm, and flavorful. Overall this is highly sippable, even though the inviting flavor makes you want to gulp it. A new favorite from Barfing Beaver. From the 16 oz can purchased from Best Damn in San Diego.

16 ounce single can from Keg n Cork in Edmonton.
Pours a slightly less than clear orangey bronze with finger of off white head.
Aroma of caramel malt, tangerine, papaya, mango, over ripe orange, slightly dank.
Taste initially caramel sweetness, mango, leafy floral hops, over ripe orange with a slightly boozy warmth.
Medium full mouthfeel - boozy warmth with creamy carbonation - mildly bittersweet finish with that touch of dankness.
Best ipa from Belching Beaver in a while.

16oz canned 2/4/20. Opened 4/24/20.
Belching Beaver and Revision Collaboration
1" off white head, very good retention at 1/2". Deep golden color, bright and what I would classify as clear/clean...definitely not an opaque or hazy NEIPA. Lace game is strong and the beer clears as it warms.
Initial nose is candied orange and sweet caramel malt. WCIPA is the initial thought provoked in the aroma. Minty/eucalyptus herbal waft noticeable. Pine and citrus are prominent.
Citrus (oranges) and stone fruit (apricot) - marmalade like flavors. Sweet caramel / dough maltiness.
Medium plus body, medium low carbonation. Sweet malt up front with a blast of citrusy hop bitterness that allow this to finish out off-dry. Some heat from 8.8% but not a big deal.
Very good to Outstanding.

Appearance - Pours with a faint haze, golden in color and with an off-white, finger width head that fizzes away somewhat quickly, revealing a thin, broken layer of surface suds. Some broken webbing, lines and small spots make up a fair amount of lacing.
Smell - Orange, with lesser grapefruit, floral character, dank and with a sweet caramel undertone.
Taste - Follows the nose. Candied orange and a touch of floral character upfront, solidified by a solid caramel malt backbone. Caramel wanes and a hint of honey sweetness creeps in. Hints of pineapple, dank and grapefruit bitterness near the finish. Aftertaste is mostly sweet, with that hint of bitterness hanging in there.
Mouthfeel - On the fuller side of medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Light creaminess to it, but goes down smooth for 8.8%.
Overall - I knew this was a Revision collab the second I took my first sip ; their fingerprints are all over it. Certainly heavier, but reminiscent of the Re-Imagined IPA. Very nice West Coast DIPA.
