definitely a fan of this one, really cool and crushable honey brew, very authentic honey flavor, but not too sweet overall, something i would drink a ton of in warm weather if it were available here. cloudy and very pale, looks like a wheat beer for sure, tall frothy white head on it, lively bubbles, pretty intricate lacing. floarl honey aroma with a little generic clean citrus, less yeast influence than expected. driven by the fresh wheat and honey in the flavor, fresh and sweet in the middle, not all the way waxy and raw, but all the way flavorful, with more hops than anticipated too, somewhat lemony, pungent, lots of wheat too, drier than it starts in the end, very well carbonated, and overall an extremely distinct beer that is a great showcase of honey. i like it being so low alcohol, perfect for sessioning, and i like it so bubbly. the honey is cool because its very obvious in the taste but does not make this too sweet for heavy consumption. i have liked everything i have had from these guys, not sure why this one (and all of their stuff really) doesnt get more hype. well made and creative beers, this is a great honey ale!

Had on tap. So I am torn on this one. On one hand I love the floral and clove aspect with the wheat and honey, at least in the taste. The issue is the extreme sweetness from the honey and malt. Let the wheat star you beaver! Smell also doesn't convey the vision that well. Do love the lacing with the golden yellow body though, but want more murkiness for this style. Feel is sweet, thin, crushable, but misses the wheat backbone bite.

Slightly clouded amber with a tiny white colored head.

Smells of honey and Tea.

Starts out tasting of honey and crackers. Toasted grain and tea flavors.

Mouthfeel is average.

Overall pretty Blah beer.

With the seductive sweetness of honey that waltzes through a fresh kilned grain profile, the Belching Beaver team makes the lackluster pale wheat style somewhat irresistible.

Me So Honey pours with a self-explained pale honey gold appearance while carrying a modest wheat translucence. Floral honeysuckle, delicate fruit and fresh baked breads waft onto the nose while its taste is sweet with grain sugars, light cake flavor and overt honey overtones; somewhat seeming angel food cake-like.

And as the sweetness rolls across the palate, its honey seduction is lost on the tastebuds and the beer's sweet graininess starts to win out. Light with melon, strawberry, apple and citrus, its complexity is delicate, tangy and remaining floral. Bold sweetness prevails as any hop balance is mute, adding a faint grassiness to the finish.

Medium-bodied and smooth, the texture is much like cream ale as hints of vanilla and cream add a softness to taste but also limits the beer's crispness, cleanliness or refreshment. It is however, a summer beer that would find much favor at picnics, front porches or beside those summer salads.

12 oz can in Idaho.
Hazy amber body with a durable white head.
Aroma: an appealing mix of wheat bread, honey and yeast.
The same elements characterize the flavor, along with some earthy hops. Nether sweet nor bitter overall.

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy and purely golden in color with an off-white, near two finger width head. Fair retention, dissipating to a thin, velvety looking froth that spans the surface. Not much for lace, save a couple of streaks and a spot here and there.

Smell - Wheat and honey, with a faint lemon-like citrus note.

Taste - Follows the nose. Mild honey, with a very clean wheat flavor. A faint note of mild lemon and floral hop character adds a touch of brightness and depth. Clean, simple and harmonious finish.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium in body with moderate carbonation. Slightly crisp with a semi-dry finish.

Overall - I'm not always a fan of lighter flavored beers, but this one has a flavor profile that speaks to my palate. Nice, simple and clean notes of wheat and honey that meld together well, then that touch of lemon and floral hop adds a nice finishing touch. It would make a beautiful beer for warmer weather, but even in the depths of winter it's a nice alternative to the heavier stuff.

on tap at North Park tap room - smells bready and biscuity with significant honey sweetness, as expected. pours pale straw colored, perfectly clear with lower than expected head or retention. taste: continues with breadyness, honey sweetness and not enough hop bitterness to balance it well. palate: just some restrained astringency going on. it finishes with lingering honey sweetness and fading bitterness. - not a bad beer. simple. easy. not a bad thing.

Quite a lovely shade of amber with a distinct honey aroma. the foam piles up but evaporates rather quickly. The mouthfeel is plenty sparkly.

The flavor is just slightly sweet with a darker taste than you'd expect from honey. It's more of a dark wildflower taste than clover. Something like alfalfa. Rather malty with a tangy hop ending. Just a slight bitterish edge.

I have to rate this higher for being in such a dismal category, and in any case this is one of the better honey beers I've had. The flavor and aroma are full of the stuff, but overall it's restrained and thoroughly drinkable. I didn't even think "American wheat." From the 22 oz bottle bought at Belching Beaver's tasting room on 30th Street.
