Style: Munich Helles Lager

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.00%

Availability: Summer

Notes / Commercial Description:
"Helles" is German for pale or light in color, but this beer is made for Texas!

Texas Helles is a crisp, golden lager fashioned after the highly drinkable beers found in the boisterous beer halls of Bavaria.

All-German malts create a slightly sweet front balanced by tangy Hallertau hops in the finish. Our six-week lagering process
ensures the smoothest, cleanest lager around;

y’all take a sip ... and try tellin’ us it ain’t!

Pours slightly cloudy yellow. Nose is sweet malt with bready, biscuity malt. Taste follows. Up front a malty sweetness. Bready cereal malts follow. Clean, crisp finish wth a light lingering sweet malt finish. Good, refreshing beer.

Light hope aroma complements the short, fading head.  A very attractive, hazy amber color. The medium body is malt forward with a touch of spicy hop. The flavors bloom and linger between drinks. Of the few Helles I've had, this might be the best. A faint alcohol note pushes forward as the brew goes down. Overall, mild carbination, full flavor and very sessionable

A: Pours a perfectly clear golden/yellow color. A dense two finger white head forms, and recedes after a minute. Light lace is left behind.
S: Cereal grains, with bready/doughy aromas. A touch of grassy and floral hops, but the sturdy and bready malt wins outs in the finish. Very simple, but very enjoyable.
T: Like the nose, simple but enjoyable. The hops play up front a little more, with just a kiss of grassy and floral flavors. Light cereal grains maybe a touch of sweetness, but more bready and doughy like malty character in the finish that I really enjoy.
M/O: A light body with beautiful carbonation and effervescence. Perfectly crisp, superbly clean, and finishes dry. Downed in big gulps. This is an excellently made lager. I will be coming back to this much more often.

This is one of those simple and enjoyable beers that really grows on you. With each drink you want to keep coming back. I am sure I will be updating this soon with much higher scores cause I can see how much moreish this is. Really well made and well done, a beautiful example of a Helles Lager.

Pours out a golden yellow haze. The head is foamy with moderate retention. No lacing on the glass.
The nose has spicy hops, lemon zest and faint grains.
The taste is mildly bittersweet. Orange and lemon come to mind. It also has a nice earthy quality to it.
Mouthfeel is sharp with carbonation. No unpleasant though. It seems to do well with the style.
