Notes:
The deep golden/light amber color of this IPA comes from the use of a blend of English Maris Otter and American pale base malts. Sparing use of English crystal malt lends some caramel sweetness to help balance the hefty bitterness. Heady aromas of blueberry, pine, citrus and tropical fruit are the result of blending Mosaic hops with several other delicious American hop varieties. For being a large, hoppy beer it is quite drinkable, in part due to the balancing act of alcohol, malt complexity, and enormous American hop character.

A: A beautiful orangeish.
S: Sweet and hoppy with some fruitiness.
T: Hoppy but balanced by boozy sweetness and fruitiness.
M: Nothing outstanding, which is fine.
O: I like how its 85 IBUs, which can make it taste like a typical overwhelming bitter IPA, is balanced by the boozy sweetness and citrus.
Very drinkable considering its 8.6% ABV and 85 IBUs.
Enjoyed at home with family on 9/14/19.

A: Clear orange/copper color. Full Head and heavy lacing.
S: Citrus hop aroma. Wonderful smell.
T: Bitter citrus hops and some sweet malts to keep it together.
M: Sticky medium feel.
O: I love that I can get this beer super fresh in my own backyard. This one is almost too easy to drink with that 8.6% abv. More people need to know about this beer.

The mosaic hops lends an amazing mouthfeel and flavor to this beer. It's almost creamy, without being a nitro. So many things happening at once when you drink this, you can almost taste three strains of hops at once. This is my favorite at this point and can't get enough. The 8.4% is the only thing that keeps me from having four in a sitting.

Terrific balance of taste, smell, and feel. As the name suggest, the mosaic hops deliver as expected and the counter action of the malts really round everything out. Way to go Texas!

Poured into a snifter from a 12 ounce bottle.
It's got a dark amber body with perfect clarity and a few occasional carbonation bubbles visible. The head is frothy and lasts a while before leaving traces of lace. 4.25
Hints of citrus and tropical fruit on the nose, but it's not as big or aggressive as other IPAs I've had lately. There's resinous hop aroma, sweet caramel and toffee, and a touch of booze. 4.0
Not too much varies from nose to tongue, as it's still got a good fruity profile with citrus and maybe passionfruit. There's still a good malty element providing sweet caramel flavor. 4
It's smooth, mellow, medium-bodied and finishing with a quick bitter bite. The sweetness is also understated but with a bit of creaminess makes for a dessert-like quality. There's no sign of booze to be found. 4.25
This is a sleeper. I hadn't heard much of it before but I won't soon forget it. 4

On tap at the Ginger Man (Midtown, Houston), served in a tulip glass. Hazy amber gold with a brief head of near white foam and streaky lace. Resinous pine, grapefruit rind and citrusy rosemary balance out caramel malt notes. Earthy tea and herbal bitterness close the dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A solid IPA, getting big and boozy, but still well balanced and drinkable.

The beer poured a slightly hazy amber with a full and fluffy white head that left generous lacing. The aroma was that perfect Mosaic hop of big tropical and citrus fruit with some sweetness holding it all together. The taste followed with the same fresh, big and bright tropical fruits and orange citrus with a subtle sweetness carrying all the fruity bitter hops. The flavor left a slick and bitter resinous coating on my palate that made this an incredible IPA. A phenomenal all around IPA and a wonderful beer from Community in Dallas.

Fruity, Hoppy, Big, Bold
Brilliant honey-amber with a massive head and a big, fruity and hoppy nose, Mosaic IPA is lucious on the palate with a creamy silkiness and an immediate warming effect. Heavy-handed hops throw down grapefruit, pine, citrus zest, tropical fruit and a big, juicy, orangey character. The sweet and malty base beneath it all offers hints of caramel and toast, and fades into a raw, herbal linger. A big, bold and damn good American IPA.
As reviewed in BeerAdvocate magazine #105 (October 2015).

Poured into a standard pint glass: Mosaic is clear copper with a dense initial head that leaves great lacing on the sides of the glass. Aroma is particularly nice, with resiny, floral hops, and a slightly nutty maltiness. The flavor is also great: strong, drying bitterness from start to finish, toasty, crackery malt, and of course lots of hop flavor, tending towards the pine-resin. This is a big, savoring IPA, with a lot of body, akin to a dogfish 90: something to drink at the end of the night, where it makes a great finish.

Pours hazy copper with a tinge of orange. Caked off-white head is foamy and tops my chalice. Thick lacing evident already. Great-looking.
Smells lightly of zesty citrus and light sweet bread, a hint of pineapple, and a hint of pepper.
Taste is a burst of fresh citrusy (orange) hops with a sweet malt backbone that plays well in the overall balance so as to let the hops shine. Caramel, biscuit. Solid.
Mouthfeel is creamy and bitter, with medium carbonation and a spicy bite at the end. A classic ipa taste with some earth to it. Recommended to all ipa fans.

Thanks to my buddy Mike for picking this up for me on his trip to Dallas. I'm glad he did. This is an excellent IPA. Pours a hazy orange with fluffy off-white head that stays throughout. Nice sticky lacing. Smells of mosaic hops and slight malt. Tastes of hops and slight grapefruit with just enough bitterness to balance the malts. I'll will be picking up a 6er the next time I'm south of the Red River.
