Yep, got this from the BA's German Beer Fest. Why aren't you volunteering as well?

Enjoying this brew from a Samuel Adams mug that Marc from Sunset Grill gave us last week at the BA staff meeting. Privileges volunteering has (I'm watching Star Wars Episode III).

So, according to this bottle, the beer inside is organic. I'm sure that means something to some people, for me, not so much.

Appearance: I swear there was a nice, thick head to this beer, but I just looked down and there's none to speak of. Again, it could be that I've had this beer has been in my fridge for awhile and it's due to age or the cleanliness of my glass.

Smell: Sweet malt, straw

Taste: I could only pick up malt when I tasted this beer.

Mouthfeel: smooth, crispiness. No lingering sensation.

Drinkability: I have to say this was a highly drinkable and enjoyable beer. I don't put much credence in something being "organic" but I'm not going to hold it against this beer.

A- Cloudy yellow almost light orange body with a small white head.

S- Light sweet honey malts, almost a strawlike aroma.

T- Honeyed malts, very light malts almost seem watered down, a touch of light hop presence like a bit of spice. Light lemon which gives a refreshing quality to this brew.

M- Very light body, highly carbonated.

O- Decent alt, Ive had much better, would pass this up if I saw it again.

A - Cloudy golden in color, with a thick white head that fades to a thin coating.

S - Slightly sour aroma, a little funky even.

T - Sour, funky, slightly grainiy.

M - Light to medium, lots of CO2 sharpness.

O - Not bad at all, but I wouldn't want much of it.

Not an appetizing looking beer, with it's cloudy, pale gold body and weak head. Smells rather nice, however. It has a gentle grainy aroma, with a heavy dose of sour fruit - perhaps Granny Smith apple is the best comparison. Light smell of hops present as well. Taste is smooth and refreshing. Rather grassy, with a bit of tart fruitiness. Finishes clean with some herbal hop bitterness. Good brew for an unseasonably hot day!

This is a beer I like. Not so hoppy but full of malty goodness. Color is straw with a modest off white head.

Smell is mildly hoppy, a light citrus nose. Also there is a little biscuity smell.

Taste is crispy and tangy with a great grainy punch. Flavors are mildly sweet and there is a bit of cherry.

Mouthfeel is full and carbonation is moderate with a neutral finish.

I like this beer in many ways and the drinkability is high.

The pour was a light yellow with quite alot of haze. Had a one finger head that quickly dissapated and left nothing.

The smell was quite fruity and sweet.

The drink started with a mineral water taste followed by a slight hop bite. It finished with a clean water, nothing lingered.

Not a bad beer, but in my opinion it's just not an alt. I'm not really sure how to classify this one. It is a quite drinkable and refreshing beer, but to me it's just mis-labled.

Clear, and the color of polished brass. A bright and fine head, but a short-lived one.

Tart lemon nose, piney, sweet malt aroma and a hint of the vegetable.

A kick of hops starts it, bitter, earthy, and herbal. A mineral citric flash, then round maltiness, a bit less pronounced then expected for an altbier. The finish is stark and mildly bitter.

Medium bodied, yet creamy and with a decent carbonation. Yet it does lack the assertive bitterness and maltiness I like in an alt.

Poured into a large goblet gives me a pale straw brew with good carbonation and a white head that doesn't leave much lace.

The aroma is musty, earthy, with some grainy malts and a little floral hops.

More grainy malts in the taste. Not too sweet, with some nice floral and herbal hop character. Moderately dry finish.

Mouthfeel is light, and very clean and crisp with a slight fizz from the carbonation.

On a hot day this would be a fantastically thirst quenching beer. I think I could knock a few of these back in quick succession. The organic aspect is a big plus in my opinion.

Pours lemon yellow color. Very clear with no head. Smell - mostly honey with touch of grapefruit. Very nice. Taste is the same - honey, malts, a bit too sweet to me, but stil pretty good. Mouthfeel - nice, crisp, not overly carbonated. It's very light beer and it's very drinkable. I would definately have another one (it's fair to mention that it's pretty pricey - about 4.5$ per bottle)

Bottle into tall pilsner glass
A – 4 finger white fine bubble head settles/coarsens at a moderate pace to a thin layer w/ no lacing, brew is a very pale light yellow 3
S – Granny smith apples, fresh fruity sweet aroma is crisp & light, milder floral and malt notes 4
T – Subtly sweet bitterness with mild florals, an almost hefeweizen like wheat quality, nicely built and well balanced 3.5
M – Light body with a mild dryness, carbonation was needed to give this mild profile some body but was almost fizzy 3.5
O – A much lighter alt than I am used to, refreshing, a very drinkable & sessionable beer I enjoyed but not my favorite of the style, may pick this up again for a summer time thirst quenching session 3.5

Travelled a long way to visit the brewery - and it was worth it (Munster is a great town and Pinkus a great brewery).

Everything says lager about this beer until it hits the back of the palate. A nice fruitiness, slight tartness and a general depth of flavour and complexity emerges from this beer. From the brewmasters mouth, its a simple pils base, with an alt yeast and some PH manipulations to get some tartness.

Top beer, very very drinkable.

This Alt Beer poured into a mug was golden amber with a white head and slight lace. The smell is fruity with citrus and malt overtones. Nicely carbonated with a medium-weight mouth feel. The taste is a mixture of earthy grains and banana with a tart finish. This was my first beer from this brewery and it was pretty good. About to follow it up with their Pils.

Poured a slightly hazy straw yellow with a thick meringue-like white head. Malt aroma with a little peach scent in the background. Clean malt flavor, just enough hop bitterness to balance, and a bit of fruity ale yeast flavor. There is a very mild presence of wheat-like spiciness, too. A fairly light mouthfeel, which is proportionate to the rest of the beer. Drinkability is great, a real lawnmower beer that has enough flavor to stay interesting after the first couple. Nice summer beer, certainly a good crossover beer for your BMC-swilling friends.

A very spirited white head bubbles up from an aggressive pour, needing a few moments to recede before pouring the last of the bottle into the half liter glass stein. The slightly hazy straw-yellow brew exhibits loads of active carbonation, keeping the head resupplied.

The aroma is of flowery hops with a little scent of grape and melon.

Full grain flavor predominates, but of an earthy nature, with some slightly sweet fruit overtones and mellow hop accents. Well balanced and enjoyable, the wheat influence gives this beer a lightness that makes it easily digestible (unless you are allergic to wheat). The generous carbonation delivers a frothy fusillade of fun with each sip.

A nice session beer that agreed well with some salty pretzels.

500 ml bottle. Poured a light amber color with a sizable head that receded quickly. Some fine lacing on the glass. Aroma is light malt and hops. Tast is smooth malt with a little sweetness and a nice hop finish. Very good carbonation and very refreshing. Another beer I could drink all night.

Passed this beer by hundreds of times but finally decided to give it a try. It poured a pale straw color with a huge head that disappeared very quickly. There was some kind of a fruit (raspberry?) odor to it, creating enticement. I get a full malt blast in the mouthfeel. The actual characteristics of the beer come out full blast in the finish, where the real taste lingers. I sense lots of earthy toned flavors intertwining. Somewhat fruity, but subtle and definitely grainy. At the conclusion, you are left with a very bitter twang in the back of your mouth. OK, but I wouldn't seek it out for the price.

Pours a light gold with a thin white head. Head retention wasnt as good as expected but there was minor lacing. Has a strong lemon smell with a bit of cider. Taste was better than I expected. Lemon and orange up front with a yeast/musk ending. Mouthfeel was good with light carbonation.
