This brew initially yields a good head with medium to fine bubbles. The head lasts a fair length of time the starts to fade. It is a cloudy yellow-orange color with a fair amount of carbonation rising up the sides of the glass. During my taste test I could feel the carbonation rolling off my tongue. The taste was not offensive and rather on the mild side after some of the beers I have had lately. I liked the taste but yet was not real impressed by it. All in all, I'd drink it again, but there are better brews to drink than this.

From bottle at home. The label has been changed some 5 years ago. Still yellowish but the 'organic' dots have been enlarged.

This is THE first "craft" beer I got hooked on back in 2007 or so. Found it at Whole foods, took 2 home, went back & ordered a case. That lasted me pretty much all summer.

This is a not a "session" beer. It's full, rich, yet refreshing flavor combines with a rich texture that gets you to maybe 2 pints....maybe. Ever hear a beer described as "satisfying"? Here it is. 2 & out.

To this day Pinkus Heffe has it all. Crisp, but not dry. Flavorful with a polite, slight citrus afterglow. It leaves one trying to discern all the different elements of flavor. Adding up to one of the most distinguished, refreshing beverages I've ever had & to date I've noted 650 beers here at Beer Advocate. Weihenstephaner is without a doubt the granddaddy of the Heffes, but there is a distinguished, yet low level spice character here that I really appreciate.

Buy it, chill it, pour it & get ready for a brew that meets all the criteria you hear time & again in the advertising of the herd. There are crisper, less noble heffes out there that are very good, but if you want a beer that leaves you satisfied, this is it.

Note to the Snarky, I do not work for this or any other company & spent over 20 years in the F&B industry, so I know how to enjoy life.

bought four different brands of weisse beers to see if nt stands out. Beer pours a beautiful looking beer. Nice soapy head, stays around forever. looks like it should be a weisse beer commercial. The problem was that I was anticipating a great weisse beer but it really wasn't great. Average at best, not really worth tthe price. Nlothng wrong with it but nothing worth looking for. Overall, just an average hefe weizen

This is one of the most impressive Weizens I've had in recent years. The wheat taste is very clean and not all that much of a yeasty flavor like many others. Pours beautifully, cloudy honey color with an impressive head. There is a very defined banana aroma to this beer and most notably as it warms to room temp. This will be for certain one of my new favorites of Weizens, along with Schneider Weisse. Both outstanding in their style.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a large weizen glass in high elevation Kalispell, Mont. Reviewed live.

A- Three-finger white head with decent retention. Very clean looking head with a nice, cloudy, orange body. I was expecting it to look worse. So that's a nice thing to see. Loses points for lack of lacing.

S- Has the usual trappings of a hef, with the unfortunate nose of grass. Some cloves and banana.

T- Some hef characteristics. Relatively thin flavor.

M- Medium carbonation but a pretty light-bodied beer. Finishes sticky.

O- Look was above average, the beer fell after that though.

A hazy pale yellow with a thin and perfectly flat foamy head, this beer had little bit of carbonation and fast sliding lace. Smelled of lemon, raw vanilla, pale German malt, and a tiny coating of hops. Also had a white wine kind of alcohol smell.

Taste was thinly of malt, some clove, and a nice light hop bitter end. Seemed like pilsener-styled weizen. Left an organic saison-like aftertaste - sharp and raw. A very dry finish. Felt decent on the way down thanks to the softness from the wheat.

A different take on the style. Very raw and missing the sweet, sour, and fruity esters. Goes well with fruit, though.

Pinkus: The methadone of hefe-weizens. Seriously, to those of you addicted to lemon slices, try this one on for size. From the sweet, banana-like fragrance to the pure, lemony-wheat palate, this beer is a one-way ticket to fruit-free rapture. Zesty, refreshing, rejuvinating... this one's gonna be high up on the summer beer list.

Saw the label and had to try this discount 500 bottle

A- hazy yellow but somehow crisp. Really pretty looks

S- bubblegum! I finally pick it up well in this one and it's great

T- same as the smell very very nice. Can't better than this

M- the hops and dryness come through with the great carbonation

O - man now this is the German hefe to try! Best so far

The hazy dark yellow/ light apricot-colored body was all-too-briefly topped by about 4 fingers of just off-white foam before it vanished leaving very spotty lace effect. The aroma is mostly of the yeasty, bready sense with no sense of hops. The flavor is also a bit yeasty and bready, but is lightly flavored overall. The feel is very effervescent and crisp with a nice light body leaving lots of room for more. Easy drinkability.

This brew is a cloudy lighter-orange color, small for the style bubbly wheat head. Fish food yeast floating 'round. Smells fruity in a belgian style way. Less of the banana/fruit flavors associated with the style, more of a thinner taste. Medium body. A decent hefe, but i would recommend many before this one.

Bottle Inspection: Nothing useful on the label

Aroma: A mild citric note with very mild hints of malt. Very neutral aroma

Appearance: Hazy, but not cloudy yellow glass with a thin cover of white that left a touch of lace

Flavor: Very mild taste. A little wheat flavor, but almost a macro lager overall taste. No clove or banana notes.

Mouthfeel: Medium light body with medium carbonation

Overall Impression: Forgettable. Thirst quenching I guess, but just not much here to report. Seriously rousting the yeast toward the end help intensify the taste a bit, but still, a weak and watery hefe.
Thanks to Pegasus for the sample.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a white frothy head similar to a latte. Aroma is citrus, lemony, yeasty.

Taste is sweet and wheaty. Mild lemony citrus notes with a light malt background and some traces of yeast. An acidic bite keeps the mouthfeel lighter, even though not very carbonated. Aftertaste is dry. No hints of that typical organic sour mash present in so many other organics.

Doesn't cut it as a hefe for me, runs more towards a weisse or even a weak witbier. Not bad but misses the mark; needs more of a yeasty, banana element.

Pours a hazy whitish yellow with a huge, creamy white head that lasts for days. Nice, fragrant nose of citrus, German yeast, floral hops, light wheat, and a hint of bubble gum. Light citrus flavor up front combined with a touch of wheat, followed by a touch of sweetness and some floral hops. Light body is well-carbonated, slgithly foamy, and just right for a hefe weizen. Goes down nice and easy - very drinkable. Although I prefer a Schneider or a Weihenstephaner, this is a perfectly respectable German hefeweizen.

This beer pours a cloudy pale yellow. With a thin head that fades very quickly. The beer gives off aromas of orange peel, butterscotch, honey, and wheat which lead you to believe this will be a good hefe. Well the gig is up. The taste is thin and watery. If they made a Hefe-light this would be it. There are citrus and wheat flavors, but the middle and finish is so watery you forget all about them. I haven't tried any other organics so I don't know if it is because it is organic or just not a great beer.

Light bodied, Light apricot color, cloudy, with a huge white fluffy head.

Aroma is mainly lemon and fresh bread, no detectable bananas or cloves - not all bad.

Taste is mainly lemon, yeast/bread, with a little fruitiness more like apple or pear. Finishes tart with a touch of hops. crisp and refreshing but a little different than the usual hefe-weizen.
