Not a whole lot of flavor on this ipa followed by a boozy bitter taste. Simply doesn't cut it for a imperial ipa

Smell: Very good, fragrant, hoppy
Taste: Very good, high bitterness, some sweetness
Mouthfeel: Very good, lively carbonation, long bitter follow through, good finish, bitter aftertaste stays in the palate very long

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a burnt/bronzed orange to brown color with a quickly dissipating white foamy head that left a speckled thin white lacing. The smell started off with a bitter to sweet grassy hoppiness. Light honey, some tobacco. Delicate pine - super far underneath. The flavor takes all of the previously mentioned aromas to combine gently to a slight sweet contour rolling into the aftertaste. Quick sweet caramel finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sipping to sessionable sort of sly feel to it. Carbonation rides fairly light all around. Overall, for a DIPA, it works, mostly nothing over the top, but I could see myself coming back to if needed.

Nice off white head, golden body with some deep browns and even a hint of red in there. Nice, but not surprising in any regard, smell. Standard hops with a little malt in the background, fresh and citrusy and a little sweet. Nice taste, smooth and creamy with a little spice to it. The hop taste is actually really nice and balanced, almost silky. Not enough carbonation, medium body. Over all a good beer but not groundbreaking.

Bottle opened on 11.11.13

A - Pours a hazy, medium orange with a small light tan head that is gone fast.

S - Orange and malty sweetness.

T - Oranges, earthy leaves, caramel malts.

D - Good carbonation with a medium body.

O - Nice balanced and above average IPA. Yes, my first worthy, and I guess it is.

Poured from a 22oz bottle, 8.5% ABV 85 IBU bottle says they use 8 varieties of hops.
L: Pour a copper amber thin head some spotty lacing.
S: Some hops there not a big nose.
T: Hop bitterness is there but somewhat weak for a Imperial.
F:Good mouth feel hops and malt work.
O: Lacking the hop hit and citrus hit for me more like a British IPA in my opinion.

Nicely hopped ale, piney hops cover the high ABV%. Deep golden color with small creamy head. Aroma is pine and citrus, taste is soft and malty, with hops on the finish. Well done all around.
