White Pony Microbrewery

From an Italian microbrewery, somehow imported from Belgium. I had their Automated Heart Patterns a while back and was impressed with their ability to to make beers that were distinct but very drinkable.

This pours a very dark red with a small but retentive head. Looks like a double stout.

Aroma is sharp and funky, tart cherry juice and vinous nodes dominating with just a bit of charred barley poking through.

Tastes quite nice. Cherries and Belgian yeast up front, bacterial sourness in the middle, and then a surprisingly rounded, lightly nutty finish that does a wonderful job of balancing out the sour nodes.
