(Served in a nonic)
This beer has an opaque black body with a thin ring of tan foam that last a bit. The smell is a mellow char but pronounced and some chocolate malt notes in the finish. The taste brings on much more character. Rich chocolate malt flavor has a light earthiness to it with a toasted malt note underneath and a soft chalk flavor in the finish. There is a roasted note that lingers nicely after each sip. The creamy carbonation enhances the finish of the beer nicely.

This is mellow but rich and is a classic porter with great chocolate malt flavors with some good depth but still very drinkable.

A very dark beer, nearly black. Forms an inch or two of a tan head that lingers a bit, leaving some lacing on the sides of my glass as it dissipates.

Smell has roasted malt, chocolate, maybe a bit of dried fruit.

Starts out on the sweet side. There is chocolate and cherry, along with a bit of booze and warming from the alcohol. The overall effect is a bit like liquid chocolate cake with cherries on top.

Fairly smooth going down, although a touch thin for the style.

This is more a winter beer, but I managed to snag a bottle in summer, but I do agree this would be really nice in colder weather. I definitely consider this a dessert beer. it would pair well with a rich chocolate dessert. A pretty good example of the style, worth a try.

Black in the glass, a finger of foam, chunky lacing sticks to the sides.
Aroma is pretty sweet, smells like scorched molasses.

Taste is big on malt sweetness and roastiness, reminds me of a baltic porter like Zywiec.
Aftertaste is dry with a lingering piney bitterness. Full bodied and viscous, a little too sweet for my taste, odd sugars and a little bit of noticeable booze. Overall it's fairly interesting, unique for a local beer. It reminds me of $2 pint bottles of Polish porters, which I enjoy but this is too sweet for me.
Polish kielbasa.

Thanks to Bob for this one!

Nice dark pour with decent texture. Aroma smelled of a nice chocolate and fruity mix. Very pleasant taste, with decent carbonation and a nice kick to it. Very good strong beer and I look forward to this offering in the future.

This was fairly decent. A relatively light imperial porter with a chocolate forward feel. Something of a caramel and tangy cola aftertaste, this had a feel of a chocolate soda in a sense, probably as I found the body to be similar in profile.

Deep pour with obsidian blackness. The head is just otherworldly. It might as well be a nitro. So tight, so smooth, creamy, compacted. Milky swirls where the head once was. Really enjoying this show.

Aroma, dead on chocolate covered cherry. There's really nothing else to say. It's a touch ashy, which adds character, but that dark syrupy cherry goodness covered in bittersweet dark chocolate...that's the nose, right there.

The flavor has less of that, but is still rather great. It starts off slightly ashy, following with milk and dark chocolates swirling together, some caramel, then a touch of sarsaparilla, finally finishing on some cherry syrup and root.

Feel is smooth and velvety, rushing in some assertive carbonation to push things along. The finish is pleasantly leathery, like a good wine.

Overall, having no regrets for buying a whole sixer. I will enjoy the crap out of this, and you should too.

Pours appropriately dark for a porter. Head is slight, carbonation and thin look similar to black soda.

Aroma is quite rich, a malty dark fruit smell, A bit boozy.

Taste is roasty malt, with a hoppy slight bitter undercurrent. The 8% gives it some body and heft, although lack of char and a slightly thin feel keeps this away from stout territory. I have some coffee, ever so slight chocolate, roasted ale goodness. The sweetness of the booze is feeling rather imperial, not quite in dark ale territory but that's a hint of where this resides on the spectrum.

It's a rather big-feeling porter, quite flavorful, a little on the sweet side and stronger than many porters.
