Dank, leafy, metallic. Reminds me of celery tonic with a splash of blackberry pancake syrup. Dry finish. Moderately bitter, but still too bitter to enjoy.
Rather sweet. On the positive side, there is a sort of cedary woody flavor. Beets, alfalfa, honey, bitter gentian. Endless unpleasant bitter aftertaste.
Seems to be in good shape, but still a garden pour. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Malt & Vine in Redmond, Wash.

Pours a medium coppery amber with a half finger, slightly off-white head that dissipates to patches and a ring around the glass. Odd aroma of caramel malt, light grassy hops and a peculiar estery component like an overripe tropical fruit. Flavor is thin caramel malt with fairly intense piney and resinous hops, but mostly as the bittering component without herbal flavors. Long, lingering astringent hop bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. Possibly the least malt support for an aggressively hopped beer I've experienced. The color and body suggest that the malt is sufficient, but it does not support the hop flavor much at all. Hops too astringent and may have been adequate with some more malt flavors to balance them out. There are actully some interesting hop flavor interactions in the finish. I wanted to like this, but it's not a well made IPA. Satisfied to finish the bottle, but I'm not going to seek this out again. I'll give this small local brewery another chance, but hope for a better rendition of the next style.
