Our friends at GRINDHOUSE CAFE, based in Griffith, Indiana joined us in the search for the perfect coffee to blend with HUNTER, our creamy Double Milk Stout brewed with Cocoa Nibs and Lactose...And we found it... Metropolis Coffee Company's Signature Blend ‘Redline Espresso'- a big bodied espresso that pairs perfectly with HUNTER'S Roasted notes.

Enjoyed at the Copenhagen Beer Festival. Reviewed from notes.

A - Poured a thick oily black with no real head. Just a few light wisps.

S - Aromas of light fruity coffee, chocolate syrup, little fudge, nice dark malts.

T - Taste is similar to the nose. The coffee is quite pleasant with nice light roast and good fruity notes. Chocolate is a little syrupy but bittersweet. Nice light nougat as well.

M - Mouthfeel is quite nice, lightly carbonated, smooth and creamy, alcohol hidden.

O - Overall this was a solid milk stout. The appearance was a bit lackluster and the nose could use a bit more of a coffee punch. Still though, very solid.

A dark black pour with a quickly dissipating mocha chocolate head. Smell is milk chocolate with sweet coffee. Hints of roasted malt and vanilla. Taste is roasty and sweet with strong chocolate notes, coffee comes next with a bittersweet finish. Taste is simple but executed well. The body and feel is spectacular, slick and smooth. Overall this is a great beer and worth trying for sure.

Courtesy of @FFFjunkie. Canned 9/8/2017 and poured into Brakspear pint glass. It pours a deep, rich walnut - nearly black - with a full finger of foamy, medium-tan head and lacing. The head slowly dissipated and left a thin coating of lacing inside the glass. It's a lovely pour. The nose is fairly subdued and features roasted malt, chocolate, nuts, lactose, and a whiff of freshly-brewed coffee. There's a lot more coffee in the taste and it includes burnt, as well as freshly-brewed espresso , along with rich milk chocolate, caramel, lactose, nuts, and brown bread notes. I noticed something that reminded me of dark fruit but as the glass warmed I identified it as coconut. This stout has a creamy, silky mouth feel that reminded me of nitro and the 8% ABV gives it substance but doesn't overwhelm. This is one of those beers that seems to improve with every sip. Particularly as the glass warms, the myriad tastes stand out but combine for a really tasty and enjoyable Milk Stout.

BIG Thanks to @FlintB for this beauty. Received in NBS BIF #6
Poured from a 16 oz can dated 09/08/17
Pours a deep, dark brown. So deep it's damn near black. Literally. I tried to shine a very strong light through this viscous roil, to no avail. Nearly Black Magic. Dark chocolate colored foam. So cohesive and tightly packed. Foam disappears after a few minutes revealing a mahogany mirror surface with a smattering of time bubbles around the ring. Slight, scattered lacing.
Aroma carries a gentle hint of full roast coffee, slightly nutty caramel, and an earthy brown bread malt note.
Taste begins with a bright full dark roast coffee that is slightly fruity (in a coffee bean kinda way). A nod toward baker's chocolate and a creamy lactose sweetness brings it all together.
Feel is full and creamy. The creamy mouthfeel really keeps this one together. It goes beyond feel and comes through as a flavor note unto itself.

Appearance - Pours jet black like used motor oil with nice think mocha colored head. No lacing at all head lasts a good while.

Aroma - Just a ton of fresh ground coffee, vanilla, little hint of alcohol, roasted malts.

Taste - Taste is the same as the aroma but times 10. Like a mouth of fresh ground coffee, vanilla, roasted malts, dark bitter chocolate.

Feel - Full bodied creamy like velvet feel, little heat and slightly dry finish.

Overall - An excellent milk stout tons of coffee perfect feel.
