Interesting. I'd call it a strong pale ale, or just a rye beer. The crystal malt is upfront and the rye blends into it before the citrus hops kick in. There's a subtle spice in the aroma, while the flavor has a sweet and bitter balance. Despite the malt flavors, it's not too thick. Overall, a fun beer. Give it shot if you can.

A - Coppery orange, hazy body, white head, tight and persistent, with a mild bit of lacing.

S - Opens with stone fruit and mango. Peaches and apricots. As it warms the more rangy hops come out, dank and pine, and eventually cattiness and wild harshness blooms, making it progressively hard to love. But the promise is lots of juicy hop, if you can get by the more brutal notes.

T - And it does explode with hops, a big dose of peach flesh, rich mango meat, lemon and pine, a big malty core keeping things rolling through the middle and softening up the close, making for a deliciously drinkable APA in a NW Indiana tradition of super hopped loveliness.

M - The feel is lovely, bright and punchy carbonation, smooth, with mild drying in the close from all the hops, without destroying a palate.

O - A lovely one, here. Full of fruit, great malt backbone. The close is bitter without being brutal. The nose is a bit rough, but it is a fine beer for drinking.

Wow...My first beer from 18th St and it's a real winner. Great flavor with a slight sweetness that is really interesting. Happy that it's readily available in Indy right now.

12 ounce bottle into a tulip glass.

Pours a mostly clear golden color, with an easy two finger head, some foamy cling. Smell is a bit perfume like, the hop aroma is very different. Herbal, some citrus, a very fragrant orange, light malt, yeast, some rye, some caramel. Taste gives more citrus than the nose- strong, fragrant orange hops, light malt, yeast, a little rye. A soft bitterness throughout. Dry, refreshing, well carbonated.

not my favorite style, but this is very good. Loaded with flavor, enjoyable to drink. Worth a purchase.

Nice Pale Ale with a bit of a tame complexion but excellent flavor. Barley grain, lemon, lime, grapefruit, tea leaves and light pine. Drinks dry but crisp with almost no bitterness.

L- Deep orange, slight hazy hue. The star of the appearance here is the fluffy head that stays for the duration.

S- Very impressed by the smell. Bright, citrus zest. Grapefruit flesh and orange zest come to mind. Can detect a slight bitterness on the nose.

T- A bit let down after the nose. Very zesty. Lack of any citrus fruit flesh. Hints of grapefruit and orange rind with an underlying earthy bitterness.

F- Expecting more from the oats. Harsh feel that felt very prickly on the palate.

O-Definitely has its up and downs. Tis alright.
