A - Straight black body, thin tan line head, fading quickly to nothing. No lacing.
S - Strong roast, toasted beans, dark chocolate, raisins, mild cinnamon spiced notes.
T - Pungent dark fruit, raisins and plums, with a solid bittersweet chocolate hit, honeyed sweetness, and a spice and bitter finish.
M - Sticky open and a brisk, dry close.
O - Very nice layering of the rich flavors, just enough bitterness to keep it clean. Solid craft.

Devil’s Conclave - 18th Street
Double Milk Stout - 7% abv
Canned 12/14/17
L - 1-finger dense mocha head atop an
opaque black body.
S - cinnamon, brown sugar, chocolate, coffee, maybe a little spice? Smells wonderful.
T - cinnamon-crusted chocolate, followed by vanilla and some spice (pepper?). Also getting some coffee, roast, and milk. Lots going on here! No detectable booze, mild bitterness, low sweetness.
F - medium-full body with medium carb.
O - I generally find milk stouts too sweet, but this is just perfect. Love the interplay of balanced flavors they achieved here.

T-milk chocolate, roasted malt, some light cinnamon as the beer warms
M-smooth, medium body, light to moderate carbonation

A 1 pint can, canned on 14th December 2017. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: It was black in colour with a one finger brown head that had pretty good retention but left only sparse spotty lacing.
Aroma: Lots of roasted malts, chocolate, cocoa and coffee.
Taste: Roasted malts, chocolate, cocoa, coffee and cinnamon. Lightly sweet and lightly bitter.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with low carbonation.
Overall: I didn’t get much cinnamon in the aroma, but it came through nicely in the taste. I’m also not so sure about the sea salt as I just didn’t get that at all. Nevertheless, there was some nice roastiness that balanced the light sweetness and made it great and easy to drink.

Got this one from claaark recently. Cheers, man!
From a bomber into a snifter
Stout brewed with lactose sugar, cocoa nibs, cinnamon and sea salt
Vintage: 2016
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a three finger, medium looking, somewhat foamy dark tan head with excellent retention. Black body with medium levels of carbonation evident for the style. Head slowly fades to a full cap with a pile of carbonation streaming up the middle. Swirly half wisp remains leaving traces of lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Roasted aromas with milk chocolate, some lactose sugar, vanilla notes and a definite cinnamon punch for sure.
TASTE: Cinnamon, milk chocolate and lactose notes up front. Cacao with a bit of salt as well, then a medium finish of cinnamon spice, milk chocolate, vanilla flavors, roasted grain and a pinch of salt linger on the palate. Medium strength but well balanced.
PALATE: Medium body and medium levels of carbonation. Creamy smooth on the palate, quite soft and smooth, goes down nice and finishes a bit mouth-coating. A touch of cinnamon spice lingers.
OVERALL: This is quality stuff. I was definitely worried when I saw that sea salt had been added, but it’s been done with restraint, which is a relief. The look is a little foamy and over-carbonated, but despite that, this one is an enjoyable, well-balanced beer. Thanks again, claaark!

Great pitch black beer with a mocha colored head that is thinner than expected.
Smell is bringing light coffee and very little spice behind it. Some roastiness as well when you take a deep breath.
Taste is roasty coffee with some cinnamon notes.
Cinnamon is a little warming. The roastiness goes good with it. Nothing in this is too powerful. This is very creamy and smooth.
Overall, I wanted a little more from this but it has great balance and could be a great all the time stout.
