Finishing off a pint at Golden West in Baltimore's fun, funky Hampden neighborhood.

Pineapple! That's it. Been trying to figure out what the predominant flavor is and it finally hit me. Luckily, I love pineapple. Makes up for the fact that this is not a particularly hoppy or bitter brew, which is what I prefer ... and which the name certainly suggests. Just enough hops/bitterness to counteract the sweetness. Nothing special here, but definitely drinkable, especially if you like pineapple.

Transparent, pale amber body with a thick, fluffy cream-colored head. Aroma brings out some citrusy and piney hops with a dash of toasted malts. Flavor is much of the same, toasted malts and a dash of hops come through. Pretty balanced. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, slightly creamy. Way better than the pale ale, a pretty decent IPA.
