From the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter.
This beefy beast pours a rich blackish brown with a thin
dark tea highlight and a nice head of off white foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some
subtle lacing. Nose of bourbon, earthy woodsy barrel,
dark cocoa, vanilla, and oak with subtle astringent booze
notes. Flavors follow the nose with oak, light vanilla, cocoa,
faint coffee on the rear, and subtle anise. Nice mouth feel;
full body, smooth, warming, bite of astringent booze on the
sides of the tongue, light carbonation, and a warming moderately
dry finish.
Overall, another solid offering from a fine Cincy brewery!
Cheers

1 PINT, 0.9 FLUID OUNCE bottle
Served in a MadTree snifter
This beer pours black and is topped with a couple inches of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.
The smell is caramel, vanilla, and chocolate.
The taste is rich with chocolate. I get the caramel and vanilla too. I recall having some anise flavor a couple years ago when I cracked the last one. There are hints of coffee in the finish.
Full bodied with slick mouthfeel
This is a good beer from a fine brewery. It is probably better fresher, but I have too much to get to in too little time.

Shiny black with a thick creamy tan blanket leaving thick wavy arms of lace on the glass, notes of dark, almost smoky roasted malt meld with a nice vanilla and chocolate presence to lightly emulate brownie batter. A touch of bitterness helps this from having too much of a pastry heft, with a full body and full dryness.

Pours black with two fingers of khaki head. Head retention is okay. The bottle gushed and spewed khaki foam into a large puddle shortly after opening the bottle. Aroma is roasted, and toasted malts with a kiss of sour. Barrel and bourbon show up, but just barely. Flavor profile is toasted and roasted malts, barrel, bourbon, and char, but despite all that greatness, it has a sour punch to it. Not in a good way. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a fizzy, semi-harsh texture that disrupts the velvety feel. Overall, a fair bourbon barrel stout, but with an off flavor that drops it.
Served in a 12oz snifter from a 500mL bottle.

Look: A rich brown that looks similar to black with my low light setting. The head is an off white that was quick to dissipate one.
Smell: Holy BOURBON, as soon as it was pouring I felt a large kick to my nose with it.
Taste: Seems to be like a blend of coffee and chocolate. This was a very subtle taste though and it took a back seat to the quiet feeling.
Feeling: Surprising little effect on my taste buds here and this might be due to the warm nature of the drink. I opened the beer and poured it a while ago. After doing that I have sipped slowly on it.
Overall: Good drink, I don't find it to be outstanding.
