I do enjoy a well done Kolsch, and from a can... interesting. Hopefully this hits nicely. Thanks to crapturds (reddit). No date, but that's typical for a can.

Pours a decent fizzy bubbly 1 finger airy head that tries to fade quickly but keeps getting knocked back with a nice column of bubbles streaming up to continue the head's reign. touches of whispy pacing, over crystal clear lemon cereal yellow color.

Nose is actually very well done for a Koslch, nice crackery grainy malts, toasty cereal grains, a mild lemony fruity like cereal note, little grassy, hay, etc, with a nice light crisp airy feel to it even in the aroma, faint hints of noble grassy slight floral hops.

Taste is pretty nice too, again more cereal grains, toasty and crackery, grainy, with a mild to fair sweetness, some hay and grassy flavors too. Fruitiness really comes through, a lager-like fruit flavor, can't really pinpoint a specific fruit but generic fruitiness, and hint of lemony cereal note. Mild grassy hops note, again noble like with hint of floralness. Mild soft crisp center, crisp finish with fair dryness, mild bitterness lingering, hint of a salty note.

Mouth is soft and crisp, bit lighter body, nice carb.

Overall pretty nice for a Kolsch, most American Kolschs are not well done, but this was pretty well done. A little sweet, and a bit on the fruity side, but that's not a big issue. Nice malts, nice hops, crisp, dry tasty, well done.

There's a thick haze to this white-gold brew initially, one that clears up to show a moderate translucency. It's as pale as a Kolsch should be, something that's often an indicator of how true a beer is to this style in particular. The head is pure white, fluffy and softly bubbly, and it sits at half a finger before loosening. A foam remains on the edges and some pretty good brussels lace sticks, particularly in a soft ring where the beer settles.
The aroma shows a good dry, white wine, pale fruit flesh, softly tart character with some underlying grains, and the lagering shows through (if that makes sense). A bit of lemon / lemongrass shows, going both zesty / citric and grassy. The taste follows suit, with a good mix of softness, dryness, and tartness overall. Grains flash in and out but don't overburden it, and the finish isn't completely clean but pretty solid.
This one is appropriately light-bodied, dry with just enough sweetness to balance, crisp but still fairly soft, and smooth. It really gets the style down well.

I bought a can of this at Andersons in Reynoldsburg, OH. It poured a slightly hazy yellow with thin white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had hints of lemon and yeast. The taste is almost a sour dough with hint of lemon. The Mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok...not my favorite beer Style.

12 ounce can, canned on 11/03/2014 (date stamped on bottom of can). Served in a stange/Kölsch glass, the beer pours a gold color with about an inch white head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. The aroma is nice, the brew smells like bready malt, grassy hops and some lemon/orange peel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some honey and light floral hops. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's crisp and it's also easy and refreshing to drink. I'd probably enjoy this more on a hot day, but it was in the 50's here today (which is nice for mid-December) so that's close enough for me. So far I'm 3 for 3 with MadTree brews that I'd like to try again. $1.67 a can at Grain and Grape.
