App 4.5, Nose 4.25, Taste 4, Feel 4, Overall 4.0
Serving Type: can
Poured from a can into a Bell's tulip. A fairly rough pour produces an impressive 2 fingers of off-white foam that slowly dissolves into a nice clumpy lacing. The beer itself is quite dark and murky with a russet-brown color that has some red highlights. Very nice-looking in the glass. The nose has all the classic pumpkin pie aromas. I get lots of cinnamon, pumpkin, and allspice as well as some toffee-like aromas.

A medium-full bodied beer with a semisweet flavor and very firm, silky feel. Not a sweet pumpkin beer, nor is it squashy. It balances the sweet brown-sugar-like notes with moderate cinnamon, pumpkin flavor, and a hint of ginger and maintains the toffee-like malt notes and even manages to display some hoppy notes. No booziness at all. Some of the cinnamon, toffee, and brown sugar comes through on the finish.

Of all the solid pumpkin beers I have had, this one tastes the most like a beer without sacrificing on all the classic pumpkin flavors. Not too sweet or too spicy. Very impressive entry in a crowded field.

This is not the most balanced of pumpkins but it is a nice ride. Strong nutmeg flavor there a good gourd like base. I get some anise and caraway. It's nearly 8% but drinks easy and is from a can.

The aroma favored nutmeg, cinnamon, spice and of course pumpkin. The appearance is a little lacking with head being small and virtually none. It is off-white in color and mostly diminishing. The hue is a nice orange color. As for flavor, I found it a little sour with a bitter finish as well as the duration being short. On the palate, the body is light but watery with soft carbonation and slight alcoholic feel.
