Had on tap at Final Gravity in Roseville, CA

Appearance - A dark, deep ruby red, served to me with a thin off-white head. Leaves spotty lacing, drink after drink.

Smell - Big black licorice notes, moderately herbal, with faint hints of cocoa.

Taste - Moderate cocoa to start, then big black licorice flavor takes over. Touches on mint. Medicinal, herbal qualities. Slight spice.

Mouthfeel - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Finishes dry.

Overall - Yeah, not for me. Too much anise/black licorice and too herbal. Similar in flavor to Jagermeister. An interesting brew, but not what I look for in a beer.
