Cask. Light amber. Thin frothy head.
Light hoppy aroma.
Gentle balanced taste of hops and malt. Mild citrus. Nice bitter finish.
Soft.
A mid Atlantic brew.

Cask @ Oliver Twist, Stockholm.
The liquid is clear; the colour is gold The finger thick head is off-white and it sinks slowly leaving some lacing.
The smell got some damp cellar-flavours, some citric and lime. It is rather light.
The taste starts with a sharp bitterness with distinct lime flavours. The bitterness becomes smoother and leaves room for notes of wheat flour, bitter oranges and bergamot. Hints of cream. Medium to full body. The aftertaste is light with some bitterness, lemon peel and wheat bread. The finish is short with some bitter hops, yeasty cellar notes and crisp bread.
The carbonation is fresh and medium strong; the bubbles mid-sized. The liquid is smooth.
Not a bad pale ale, but it not very “American” as in ”citric hoppy and bitter”.

It had a strong hop flavor out of the bottle, but it tasted off -- astringent. I'm not sure what diacetyl tastes like, but I suspect I was picking it up here. I associate the taste with old beer. Is that correct?

Using only US hops it is 'triple hopped' according to the brewery. So it was hoppy!
Hand-pulled pint in Willys Brewpub, Cleethorpes on 9 Mar 2013.
Amber to dull old gold in colour with a white head that endevoured to hang around and leave some lacing as the beer level sank.
Hoppy nose, as you'd expect: not as 'in your face' as most US brewed APA's I've encounted but hoppy enough for me. Only a mild citrus front (good, I don't like them too citrusy): this had a floral and earthy smell.
The taste was all about the hops, the malts preventing the beer becoming too bitter but not actually reaching my taste buds: just helping to control the hops somewhat.
Body depth was fine and I enjoyed the beer, my first from this fairly new brewery: I'll look out for more of their offerings.
