Drinking this at The Raleigh Brewing Company in Raleigh NC. Poured from a Tap into a 12 oz tulip glass.
Appears ever so slightly hazy, golden, with a nice head that dropped quickly.
Smells fruity, spicy with notes if apples and cloves.
Taste follows the nose, yeast forward, fruity, apples, pepper.
Mouth feel is medium for the style.
Overall a very nice Belgian Golden Ale that I would definitely order again.

On tap at the Boxcar Bar + Arcade in Raleigh

Hazy orange-gold color, aroma is fruity (apple) and spices, along with Belgian yeast. Flavor is grainy, with some citrus, and some sugary sweetness.

Poured a golden body with good head and strong lace presence. A good amount of spice and yeast are prevalent in the aroma and there are notes of citric (possible lemon but mostly orange) and mild tropical fruit flavors. Beer is light bodied, real smooth, and tastes as it smell b/c while not too much going on (it's not a complex beer), there is a balance between spicy, citric hops and mild tropical fruit sweetness like pineapple or tangerine and the yeast adds a fullness to the beer so it is not slick or water. Just one of those beer that I found myself "chugging" and couldn't put down b/c it is just real good.

Clear, dark amber (SRM 10-12), with no head, but slight occasional carbonation rises to form a thin ring of lace in a Rochefort chalice.

Apple juice with light cinnamon gives way to honeydew and white wine, however all are rather faint. Some floral traits are also evident.

Slight sourdough flavor with juniper berries. While generally balanced, this is tilted toward sweetness. The finish is subtle and quick, bringing out light clover and off flavors with warmth.

Effervescent, prickly carbonation accentuates a light to medium body with slightly warming alcohol and a satin texture. Warmth brings out a solvent character.

This is a fine beer, though not a good example for those unfamiliar with the style, as it lacks depth of character and intrigue. A roasted pork chop and sweet barbeque sauce definitely improves the experience.

Tasted on tap in downtown Raleigh, NC.

I very much enjoy this style of beer but have not had much luck finding good US-brewed examples. This beer was an exception for me. It delivers everything a Belgian Golden Strong should, including authentic yeast notes. Very good!

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/22/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana, honey, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Touch of booze in the aroma as it warmed, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, candi sugar, and pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana, honey, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/floral hop bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana, honey, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, candi sugar, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Lightly increasing warmth of 9.2%, hint of booze well after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian strong pale ale. All around nice fruity/spicy yeast, candi sugar, and pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Well rounded Belgian yeast complexity and balanced pils malt/candi sugar. Not overly sweet for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering, and great style example.

Poured on-tap and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a pale, slightly hazed, golden coloring with a clingy, filmy, white head. Nose of toast, honey, and subtle citrus notes, with some fruity/berry notes. Flavors are yeasty forward, with a subtle citrus blending highlight. Some bready notes in the backbone, with a floral/juniper highlight, and a subtle spice blend. Smooth, mid-bodied, with a clove and coriander blend in the aftertaste. Smooth, semisweet lingering finish. The booze is hidden very well in this beer. Different take on the style, and damn tasty.
