Well... this is literally out of left field for me - it's a new brewery and definitely a new rendition of a style I enjoy. I must admit that the marshmallow billing had me on my heels, but everything worked out nicely in the end. It's a nice looking beer - dark, with a lovely lingering tan head. I didn't get a big "wow" factor from the smell - a bit of, well, mocha but not much else. This beer rounds into form when it passes by your lips - lovely measures of coffee, chocolate and when you really think about it, marshmallow. Think of it as a cold version of a winter drink, with a faint alcohol burn. Sledding, anyone?

Nose is mainly coffee, with a touch of lactose. The coffee is toned down flavour-wise, and the sweetness brought up. I would never identify it as marshmallow, but looking for it that is the taste. Chocolate as well. Very creamy body. Nice stout- not gimmicky like it sounds.

650ml bottle from brewery dated January 29th, 2016.
Jet black with foamy brown head that dissipates slowly. Minimal lacing. Coffee and burnt sugar on the nose. Pleasant sweetness, coffee, chocolate. Just a hint of bitterness. Thick creamy mouth, with mild carbonation. Adjunct stouts and porters seem to be a sweet spot for Left Field. More please.

A - Poured pitch black with a thin layer of medium brown head with good retention.
S - Roast and sweet milk chocolate.
T - Roast, sweet milk chocolate, lighter coffee notes. The lactose is very prevalent, but not in a bad way, adding a nice sweetness throughout.
M - A great creamy mouth feel with medium body and light carbonation.
