Left Field is one of the best and most consistent breweries in Toronto, up there with Bellwoods, Great Lakes, and Burdock.
These guys excel at a wide range of styles, from continental lagers to hoppy pale ales to kettle sours to porters and stouts. In keeping with the "beer and baseball" theme, most of their beers are low to mid-strength. And more often than not, they're full flavoured and on-style. I also like the fact that they're not afraid to try new things. For example, recent rotators and one-offs have included a pomegranate sour, a smoked black lager, a peanut butter chocolate stout, and a zero IBU IPA.
The brewery itself is an awesome place to have a beer, with a laid back and welcoming neighborhood vibe and a diverse crowd of families, couples, eccentrics, and everything in between. My wife and I recently toured the brewery with a group of friends and we all had a great time.
Service has always been good when I've come here. No complaints on that front.
Also, while not nearly as important as the top quality beers that they make (the main reason for visiting), Left Field's branding and communication with customers are very strong, and are something that other Ontario breweries could learn from and work to emulate.
In sum, if you love good beer and happen to be in Toronto, I highly recommend a trip to Left Field.

When I visited there was mostly IPA's available. Would have liked a more diverse selection. That being said it is a really comfortable neighborhood feel. There was families, single drinkers and every group size between. Gave the overall impression that you were welcome and they wanted you to stay.

It's easy to miss, tucked in an alley, helps to have a local guide you there. Inside its fun, baseball-themed signs and art showcase the passion for the game. Same for the beer, smaller samples only, but lots to choose from Always solid beers, if not boundary pushing outrageous. Time and a place for all things, this place is for a relaxed glass or two of good beer. No food and harder to find spot are cons, very chill space and quality collection are great.

The most American feeling taproom I visited in Toronto. I love the baseball theme. There was a yoga class going on and a poutine food truck, so that was pretty cool and, poutine aside, made me feel like I was in the states. The beers are solid, but not ground breaking. This is the spot to get beers that just about anyone will like. That's not always a bad thing.

Friendly knowledgable staff, good selection of draft plus beers in can / bottle. No food but they are happy for you to bring in food from outside - good pizza nearby. A little hard to find but worth the effort.

This is a really cool place tucked in to an alleyway in a residential neighbourhood. The vibe here was fantastic, with a a small bar, a seating area and a large section of the brewery floor opened up with picnic tables to accommodate additional patrons. When I was there, there were 4 offerings available and unfortunately there wasn't a cask at all. Would be nice to see a slightly larger selection and for a Saturday afternoon a cash offering would be a nice additional as well. Quality of beer was solid across the board. The service was good and the people and the other guests were very friendly. I would be a regular here if I lived in the neighbourhood.

They have come a long way since opening. Arguably making the best IPA in the city, and very decent sours. Good hours but parking and walking is an issue.
