Formerly Hop Boxed, then Unboxed.
Windows Up is a single IPA made with Mosaic and Citra hops. It pours a hazy straw color and is topped with bright white beer foam. Piney aromas mingle with fruity notes, while hints of citrus fruit and an overall lingering resinous quality lend a touch of complexity to this dank IPA.

Poured from tap into shaker, 1 finger head, nice retention, great lacing. Clear golden in the glass. Smells of sweet malt, pine/pineapple citrus all of what you would expect. Taste initially of sweet malt, pineapple and citrus quickly follow, nice tingly finish. Great beer, hope to find this in 6rs. I really think that this hop combo is cheating, never had a bad one. Malt bill puts it over the top.

Drinking this straight out of the bottle. Surprisingly smooth, easy drinking.
Taste reminds me of: pine, citrus rind, tropical fruit, and hints that almost remind me of something like salted black licorice? I like this.

Pours a lovely apricot with a full, foamy white head. Carbonation is steady and pleasing to the eye. A solid start.
Aroma is of big yellow fruits -- apple, mango, pear -- with a notable pinesap and yes, "herbal," overlay. Great depth and texture here. Not in your face, but nice and mellow.
Taste falls slightly short of the nose; some of the juiciness and depth is lost, and the overall effect is dulled. There is also a very interesting Knox gelatin impression that pervades the flavor (slightly muddied, rich), and, as discussed below, the texture. I'd actually like a bit more caramel malt presence and underlying sweetness here, but I know that's no longer the style.
Mouthfeel is surprisingly thick, given the fairly vigorous carbonation. The alcohol catches up here as well, leaving a bit of a solvent character on the tongue.
Overall, this is a solid IPA, and a nice change-up from the much thinner, hop-forward style prevalent on the West Coast. Not sure I'll be investing in another six pack, but glad I bought this one.

Overall an excellent yet fairly standard IPA. Head is decently thick and laces very nicely. The bottom (in a pint glass) has a lighter color to showcase the slight unfiltered quality. The nose contains a sharp hoppy nose. Mosaic and Citra hops are obvious at the front of the mouth and stay in the mouth throughout a sip. Not overly dry or juicy in either direction. Goes down smooth with the perfect amount of carbonation. Alpine Beer Company has done it yet again.

Canned on 03/04/2020. Pumped to find a sixer of this. In typical Alpine fashion, this has a stellar body and feel with a delicious finish. Super hoppy so it’s obvious how strong the nose and flavor will be. An easy drinking beer, but at two cans in you remember it’s 7%.

From the 12oz Green Flash stubby bottle - pint glass.

Have had this one a few times. Not my favorite Alpine IPA offering by far but still very crushable in its approach. My pour showcases a fairly clear, golden pale body with a thick lathery cap of khaki foam suds. Nice lattice work and rings of lace there. Clean and crisp with a nice piney, citrus, tropical fruit melody. There is some subtle dank herb there but it is a litttle light and diluted at times. Some bready pale malt presence and a solid drying effort in the finish. Well balanced overall.
I wonder if this is just their Hop Boxed IPA re-tooled for large scale production?

Not my favorite SD beer, that's for sure. As an SD native, we have better than this by far. But, it does have a very interesting flavor and transition. Mouthfeel is on point. Smell is trash. Not good at all. The look in the glass is good: clean copper with butt-white lacing. But ya, overall it falls a bit short because it has a long, strange transition from apple-juice sweet to bitter. Takes like 10 seconds. And, again..the smell is just trash. Won't be buying it again, but it's an interesting one. If you're bored of normal IPAs, try it.
