Best by date of March 14th, 2017

Appearance - Pours crystal clear and bright, golden yellow in color. White, near finger width head that dissipates rather quickly, leaving behind a thin, broken layer of suds with a thicker ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell - Strong tropical aroma, with orange and pineapple dominating much of the nose. A bit like Dole Orange-pineapple juice. Faint, 'white bread' malt sweetness beneath.

Taste - Not as flavorful as the nose leads to believe. Moderate hop juiciness with orange and pineapple zing character. Mild hop spice and pine. Weak, generic 'white bread' malt backbone. A touch of mango in the finish, but otherwise a light, lingering pith bitterness in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium bodied with fair, bitey carbonation. Slick drinker with a crisp, semi-dry finish.

Overall - It's good, but I'm not really into these SMASH-type brews because they lack complexity in some form or another. I do like that they help to single out characteristics of particular hops, and for that I'm always curious to try them.

22 oz bottle poured into snifter best by date of March 2017

A: Soapy small white head that lays down as a film and laces the glass. Body is a nice amber caramel with excellent clarity.

S: Lots of pineapple a little but of grapefruit rind and a decent malty backbone

T: Lots of pineapple, and passion fruit, nice grapefruit rind

M: Medium but very clean finish almost lightly syrupy.

O: Excellent beer, its not juicy but it explodes the pineapple flavor the body makes it clean and crisp almost like eating freeze dried fruit. The fruit is huge but it doesn't linger. Great beer though and woth looking into.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, yellow session. Aroma has a more classic hop profile with chives and onion notes. Taste is also quite hoppy with a medium bitterness. A more classic but well made IPA.

22 ounce bottle poured into a tulip

A: Pours a golden orange with thick creamy white head, lots of lacing, head dissipated into a soapy film, lots of carbonation, looks good.

A: Papaya, sweet citrus, lemongrass, touch of citrus rind, no alcohol on the nose.

T: Get hit of some tropical notes up front, papaya, guava, tangerine rind, slight lemongrass, moderate amount of bitterness with tangerine and orange peel in the aftertaste, touch of malts for some balance, very nice.

M: Light-medium bodied with a lot of carbonation, dry finish.

O: A solid offering from Alpine, very drinkable IPA, I don't I have tasted a single hop IPA that as good as this, definitely revisit if I get the chance.

Bottle poured into a Green Flash Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a nice layer and leaves some light lacing.

S: Interesting mix of dank and tropical notes jump out, a little citrus and pine, a bit of crackery malt, and just a hint of sweetness.

T: Bright citrus, lemon, lime, grapefruit, tropical fruit, mango, papaya, peach, nectarine, resinous pine, dank earthy notes, a bit grassy, a little crackery malt, and a touch of sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, a bit creamy.

O: One of the better single hop IPAs I've had.

This is one of the better single-hopped IPA's I've had. Brilliantly clear after an aggressive pour, a couple of fingers of slightly off-white head top this beautiful beer.

This is imminently poundable, with a lot of sticky lacing following you on your brief journey to the bottom of the glass. The flavors and aromas are in sync: dank citrus envelopes your tongue and nose, with heavy hemp qualities.

Just a joy to drink on a beautiful fall day, highly recommended, especially when it's uber fresh, which this is.

Attractive golden amber color with bubbles streaming in the Maredsous goblet. Modest white foam. Pleasant mouth-filling carbonation. Aroma of lime and apricot.

Flavors of grilled mango with a little cedar. Sharp piney and grapefruit taste. Moderately bitter with plenty of hop aromatics. This is a decent and restrained exercise in singling out a hop. I'm not sure it's the best Mosaic flavor I've had, but it's quite drinkable. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottlecraft in North Park.

Poured from 22oz fancy bomber into a pint glass. Best by March 2017.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate effervescence and a touch of haze. Head is a finger of frothy ivory foam; not bad at all!

Smell: piney and earthy, but with a big grapefruit undertone. Even if this thing was on the shelf for 9 months, it retains a heck of a lot of hop character. Very good indeed.

Taste: nicely earthy and rather sweet; some of the fruitiness is faded when compared to the aroma. Still a nice beer, however.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and a good creaminess for the style.

Overall: this beer has just enough bright grapefruit in it to keep me going back to the well. I'd love to have tried this fresh, but it's still damn good.
