Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.00%

Notes / Commercial Description:
So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU

12 ounce bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy orange hue.

Smell - A combination of floral, citrus and pine.

Taste - Pronounced bitterness, sweet with citrus in the finish. A bit of alcohol bite.

Mouthfeel - Thin body. High carbonation.

Overall - A classic Westcoast DIPA! Very nice representation of the style.

Poured from a 22oz bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a nice white head that leaves some lacing. Smell is floral, citrusy, piney, and a bit sweet. Taste is full of grapefruit and pine. Floral and tropical flavors in the back. Nice malt backbone. Some spiciness as well some dankness and sweet onion. Mouthfeel is vey crisp and light. Drinks very easily. Overall, a fantastic DIPA. Better than Pliny, not that it's hard to beat Pliny though.

Rather ugly label, by the way, not that it matters. Bright orange golden color with a thick thin head with medium retention but leaving a constant plate.
Unique aroma with notes of biscuit and caramel malts, orange-tangerine, yeast and pine. Not sure what made it unique, maybe some powered herbal dankness.
Hoppy flavor with notes of oranges, grapefruit, lots of pines and resin, spices and American yeast. Increasingly dry aftertaste with a long lasting bitterness.
Medium body with appropriate carbonation.
Citrusy and piney DIPA with a superb balance. It seems assertive but it has further hop complexity between the lines. A reference.
