Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU

12 oz. bottle, tulip

A – Medium amber with extremely high clarity, pours with a medium body. A small cap of nearly pure white foam, with moderate-low retention.

S – The nose on this is absolutely phenomenal. Resin, pine, musk, something like pecan (maybe?) in the mix. Definitely papaya and very ripe mango making up the muskiness. Hop aroma to the max. Light caramel malt backbone, just enough to lend support to the hops.

T – Again, this is all about the hops, with flavors of pine, resin, ripe mango, and light muskiness. All flavors come and go, interplaying throughout the sip and finish. Malt provides body mostly, but some caramel and possibly Vienna malt is apparent. Bitterness is high but seems moderate thanks to balance.

M – Medium to medium-full body, with moderate sudsy carbonation. The malt provides a firm, lightly sweet backbone for a highly bitter, but perceived as only moderately bitter, hop bomb. Juicy up front but finishes with some dryness.

O – Just a beautiful West Coast hop showcase, really focused on aromatics and flavor rather than bitterness, with the malt body to back it up. My first Alpine brew, will not be my last.

A: Pours a chill-hazed burnt orange color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a moderate ring around the glass and leaves some nice lacing

S: Loaded with citrus and pine up front, with plenty of fruity notes. Some malt manages to poke through, but not much

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with a burst of citrus and pine, along with some decent bitterness. Some earthy and floral notes come through with the light maltiness. Finishes with lingering bitterness and more citrus and pine notes

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: West-coast DIPA and no doubt about it. Great brew with surprisingly good drinkability. The hops really shine through in this one, with the malt simply trying to keep a balance between things. Definitely worth seeking this one out, despite the $15-17 6-pack tag

Pours dark amber with a small head, noticeable carbonation. Smells of sweet malts, almost like skittles really, some citrus zest. Taste is bitter, hoppy and floral. Dry and hoppy, but goes down light and fairly easy.
