330ml bottle bought from The Vineyard, Belfast

Poured a deep hazy amber red colour. Creamy head poured small but quite thick then faded very quickly to light wispy covering with thicker edging... light carbonation... some light lines of lacing...

Aroma - Lots of piney, peppery and grassy hops up front mixed with toasted caramel malts... lightly roasted nuts, spicy dried fruits (raisins, figs), citrus peel, light tobacco, some rubbery traces, toasted malty loaf, blood oranges, light liquorice, some wet hay...

Taste - Good blast of grassy and spicy hop bitterness, piney resin traces, overripe fruits (bitter oranges, apples, bananas), also some dried fruits (prunes, dates, raisins), warming alcohol, brown sugar, crystal malt, toffee, rubbery traces, light smokiness, soapy...

M&D - Fairly sharp and dry initially then smooths out... full bodied... very very quaffable for a 6% brew...

Overall - An excellent Amber Ale and one of my favourite UK beers at the moment...

Keg @ The Colston Yard, Bristol. Dark brown/reddish pour with a small off white head. Medium carbonation. Smell - Fruits with a hint of toffee. Taste - Sweet mixed with a hoppy over current, medium bitter finish. Solid.

Poured a hazy dark amber/red colour.

Smelled of mellow malts and hops, very balanced.

Tasted more hops than malts, but the malts were there. There was a slight bitterness. A very hearty IPA flavour.

Would I buy it again? Yes.

Pours copper with a large lasting head.
Nose shows toasty malt, caramel, spicy and resinous hops.
Flavours include sultanas, golden syrup, bready malt and piny, resinous hops followed by an assertive bitterness.
Much too highly carbonated.

Pours a very dark brown colour with a beige head. Aromas of toffee & roasted malts. Tastes of roasted malts, toffee, caramel & sweet fruits leading to a mouth feel of mild hop bitterness. Overall not one I loved on my first go, but would give it a second chance.

On-tap. Pint glass @ L´Espumossa (Barcelona). Pours red Brown in color showing ruby tints to the light. Chill haze. Yellowish off-white froth & creamy crown. Fairly good retention. Sweet caramel malts, berries & fudge chocolate hues to the nose. Strong malty flavor at first sip. Medium to full body. Soft carbonation. In the middle, increasing hops from the back mixed with chocolate notes linger into a sweet malty finish rounded by underneath resiny hues. Flavorful & easy drinkable.
