Oatmeal pale ale. Piney, floral and fruity (moslty grapefruit). It's velvety but really lacks of carbonation. Almost flat. A bit of green tea bitterness in the end

Pours pale copper with a medium head that leaves spotty lace. Nose is a bit on the dull side with mild floral pine citrus. Taste follows...mildly hoppy, crisp and drinkable, and a bit dull. Nothing bad here, but not a lot of flavor. The oats do give it a nice soft mouthfeel, however.

Pint at the Hope in Carshalton.

A: Bronze, slightly hazy, small thick head, very good retention.

S: Malt, citrus fruits, mainly strawberry.

T: A bit of strawberry, tiny hint of smoke, some lime.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: More malty than hoppy, a good late summer beer.

Cask The Barley Mow, Bristol - Pours clear copper. Nice lacing. Smell - oats, hint of pine, floral notes. Taste - oats, malty, light pine pulls through. strong bitter finish. Well balanced but too bitter for my tastes and the hops seemed subdued, possibly better in a bottle ?

Real ale cask pour at leyton technical.

The cask pour definitely made it feel flatter. It was much maltier than American pale ales. Not really too hoppy so I had a hard time with it.

Enjoyed form the bottle in a snifter via our friend from England---Thanks Keith!

Pours a lightly hazy amber touched golden color with a firm head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and very nice lacing. Nose of citrus fruits of lemon and grapefruit, honey, and moderately strong grain notes. Flavors follow the nose with honey touched grains blending with a nice grapefruit note that fades on the back to a moderately bitter aftertaste. Medium high carbonation sears in the bitterness making for a nice mouth feel and finishes with a medium strong herbal bitterness. Very interesting for the style.

Cheers

Pours a vibrant orange colour. Aroma is mostly crisp hops and malts (oatmeal), citrus, and grapefruit. Very carbonated, clean malt (oatmeal) starches and citrus hops dominate the flavour. Grapefruit notes and a slightly sweet undertone are present as well.

From a 330ml bottle with 3 weeks to go before best before date.

Pours a hazy, golden orange with several streams of bubbles. Despite a slow pour, to retain the sediment in the bottle, there's a two-finger, loose, soapy head with staying power.

Smells spicy, bready, earthy.

Taste is bitter, herbal, and piney. Has a long, harsh, bitter finish.

Body is surprisingly thin. Carbonation is high, verging on gassy. Dry.

Taste and feel are very disappointing. Too bitter, too gassy. No softness or subtlety. Watery mouthfeel.

From Festival de las Naciones. In Duvel glass. At lunch back home, with breaded steaks and fried potatoes. Perfect aroma, taste in the same level, and low ABV. What more can be asked?

The look of the beer is fine, and the beer also smells fine. The taste has a faint taste of oatmeal to it and besides that tastes much more like an IPA. The moutfeel is good, overall an okay beer.

Cloudy orange with fast-fading taupe froth. 3.75
Husk, lots of orange zest but a whiff of sewage. 3.5
Hay and toast, lots of Cascade citrus, then some herb and twig. 3.75
Peach jam on toast finish and throbbing minty linger.
Smooth enough, almost medium, slight cling. 3.75

Casacde zip saves a dull beer. Has the same issue as Goodbye Blue Monday - oaty smoothness seems to muddy the hop character. (Palisade is meant to be some pretty subtle floral + grass, anyway.) Nothing special, and still not impressed by Siren. 3.75
