On tap at the brewpub in San Antonio.

Appearance: Pours golden with excellent clarity. The semi-durable head leaves streaks of lacing.

Aroma: Flowery and spicy and bready in near equl measure.

Feel: Light body and medium carbonation. Dry finish

Flavor: Appropriately hoppy. Some malt flavor and misc. herbal, floral and other components from the yest. Low funk for style. Lingering moderately bitter aftertaste.

O: very nice.

A: At first pours a slightly hazed golden orange color. After a minute the haziness clears up. Which leaves you with a stunning, fairly clear, burnt golden/orange color. A two finger white head lasts throughout with great lacing.
S: Big yeast aromas up front. Fruity, clove, and spicy. The rye plays a small part by adding a noticeable bready character. Banana esters, some pears. The fruit from the yeast, along with what could be added from the rye intermingle very nicely. A bit of hoppy bitterness lingers.
T: Follows the nose, which is yeast forward. Light fruity esters, peppery spice, cloves. Banana esters as well. A great noble hop, European hop character. Grassy, floral. Very clean and dry throughout.
M/D: The body is near perfect. Medium body and carbonation. Crisp and very dry. So refreshing and clean. Yep, I can drink a few of these with ease. Very easy and enjoyable to drink.

A really good version of a Saison. I love the European hop and dry estery yeast character. Very well done, and great that this is a year round offering.
