Brewed by:
Radiant Pig Craft Beers
New York, United States

Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
This is the biggest, juiciest IPA we’ve ever made. This unfiltered gem has a slight haze with huge tropical and citrus flavors, but is surprisingly smooth for such an aggressive amount of American and Aussie hops. As East Coast IPAs continue to evolve we added our own take, to make sure the party just don't stop.

Had it on tap at the Harlem Tavern, NYC. Being a fan of Radiant Pig's Junior IPA, I chose it for both this reason and the unique name.
Save the Robots pours a somewhat New England style golden straw hazy color with a frothy film of head that retains throughout.
The aromas are fruity and consisting of citruses and tropical fruit as is typical for an IPA. Most notable are the grapefruit, orange peel, mango, pineapple and a lemon like twang.
The hops profile tends to dominate the flavor yet in an understated way. There is a sweet and sour interplay going on, particularly between the pineapple and lemon finish. Mild to moderate pine add a gentle and accessible prickle to the mouthfeel. Beyond the hops flavor, there is a hint of caramel malt, however, the feel and flavor are in some ways mineral water clean. The palate is dry overall while the body is medium. The gentle carbonation makes the texture smooth.
This is a more mellow and easily drinkable IPA that feels lighter than its ABV. Sessionable yet with a little more body and flavor than a so called session IPA.

Pours a slightly cloudy medium golden color with a one inch white heat that left lots of lacing down the glass. Smells and tastes of tropical and citrus fruits, a mild malt presence and has some floral notes. Smooth, clean, crisp and refreshing. Mild bitterness, well carbonated and light bodied.

Tall can, no dating info to be had

Typical NE style IPA look to this one...clouded, medium orangy amber, moderate light khaki head, lasting nicely and then leaving high quality looking sheeting and lace splattered all over the glass

Tropical sniff

Super fresh, tasty and highly enjoyable cloudy, juicy, tropical IPA...go get some if you see it available by you

This beer is perfect!! I never give all 5's, but Radiant Pig deserves it for this masterpiece. Let's compare it to a Heady Topper. This beautiful, pale, blonde East Coast IPA has the same SRM as a Heady Topper. It feels like you're drinking little delicious hop angels that are prancing around and galavanting on your tongue. Sooooooo Juicy!! It tastes like Heady Topper (no bull), it smells like Heady Topper (no bull), and what I like about it more than Heady Topper, it comes in at 7% alcohol rather than 8%, so you could drink more without getting as plastered off of one beer. Kudos to Radiant Pig and Save The Robots. I can't wait to try more of your varieties. Love that it is emphasized as an East Coast IPA too, tell the pretentious West Coasters to stick their Dark & Piney's somewhere graphic :^)

I'm not sure why this beer doesn't have higher ratings because it's an excellent juicy dank bomb of flavor. It's a great take on the NE IPA with smooth juicy hop flavor with a nice earthy lingering. I feel like if this beer had a Tree House label on it people would be all over this in seconds. Radiant Pig has made a fantastic brew here. Make more. Please.

Pale gold with a light unfiltered haze and a a big-as-ya-want-it head of white; lotsa lace trails linger... Aromas both citrus and tropical with a floral accent are followed with a juicy, moderately bitter splash of flavors... Mild honey-like sweetness on pale malt with soft, ripe fruit impressions and a flowery bouquet... Soft, smooth, and light, with ample carbonation and a great finish. Crafted in NY, brewed in Boston, featuring unspecified American and Australian hops...

Poured from a 16oz can into a pint glass

Appearance: Wow.. haven't seen an IPA look this light in a while. Transparent yellowish gold in color, with a small white head. Nice head retention, showing some film around the inside of the glass. Steady stream of bubbles flows up the glass as well.

Smell: Big citrusy notes engulf you as you put your nose in this one. Very clean smelling. I am getting some resinous pine aromas, some grapefruit and lemon. Really big profile here, smells heavenly.

Taste: Nice west coast hop flavor here. Big citrus notes, orange, pine, grapefruit, mango, The taste is clean and not over done at all. Finishes with a subtle amount of malt tinge, which is just enough to balance it off. Really big flavors here.

Mouthfeel: Such a light tasting beer with such a huge hop profile. Bitterness is very low and pleasing, which makes this a breeze to quaff. Mouthfeel is a tad resinous, leaving a little slickness behind on the tongue. Very nice.

Drinkability: Very impressed with this offering. The appearance along looks almost as light as a pilsner, until you smell and sip this one and realize you have a big, citrusy IPA. Love how well balanced the mouthfeel is, it's a refreshing IPA that is easy to put away. Impressive offering I would seek out again.

This is billed as an "East Coast IPA" but it certainly doesn't look like one. Completely transparent. I could read the entire Sunday paper through this beer. Do newspapers still exist?

Anyway, the substantial bone-colored head has some retention and minimal lacing. The nose reminds me of a NEIPA. Big bright sweet citrus notes with some freshly potted flowers.

The taste is dank right off the bat. Raw green earthy notes are eventually accompanied by tart and juicy grapefruit and pineapple. The lightly toasted sourdough malt character is very present in the finish. There is a bitter kick on the end that doesn't last long. Mouthfeel is low to medium for the style and ABV.

This drinks much more like a West Coast IPA in my opinion. Save the Robots is a pretty decent beer but it just baffles me why this would be identified specifically as an East Coast style. I wouldn't necessarily recommend. I'd prefer this to be a bit more flavorful with a bigger mouthfeel.

L: Yellow/orange, slightly hazy, white head, some lacing
S: Citrus, pine, bready yeast, little bit of tropical fruit
T: Follows the aroma, very crisp with a bit of a grassy finish; not what i would call juicy these days
F: Very drinkable, nice bitterness
O: Really nice offering that I'd reach for again
