A Hazy yellow beer, minor head, no lace.
S Salty sour, grapefruit hops
T Lots of sour flavor which is pretty unnerving
M The aftertaste left in your mouth is a sour puss pond flavor that lingers a bit too long.
O Had on tap at the Republic Street Bar, got to keep the cool Martin House can shaped glass. The Sulky Brunettes at Mattfest 2014 made the beer much better though. It's an interesting beer, not sure I like it or would drunk again though.

Whoa, that was unexpected. There's a definite pickle brine component here. The brewery's website considered this akin to a sports drink on a 110-degree day, and I can actually kinda get that, as I always thought Lemon-Lime Gatorade had a bit of a brine component too. It all sounds kinda nuts, but it really does work, and, frankly, I appreciate the unique spin on gose, which is neither too funky, too overacidified, nor just a lightly tarted wheat beer. This is probably YMMV territory for most, I think it's 100% worth a look.

Poured into a pils glass, this beer is an opaque straw color. Lots of carbonation here, but the head dissipates rather quickly. No lace to mention. The nose is a bit drab, with muted notes lemony soap and various earthy aromas. The taste, though, is where Martin House hits the home run here. A previous review suggests it has a strong "pickle brine" flavor to it, and I can't disagree with that. But it's pickle brine in a good way. So salty it'll make you pucker at first taste, but damn if it doesn't finish clean and leave you feeling refreshed. Tart lemons abound. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean.

Martin House, if you're not familiar with them, are doing some amazing beers right now. It's probably my favorite brewery in TX at the moment. And this beer is no exception. I discovered the Salty Lady last summer and have been enjoying ever since. It's great for cooling off on a hot summer's day or for unwinding after a long day at work. You probably either really like or don't much care for this, but I am firmly in the former corner. Delicious. Cheers to Martin House for giving us this one.

Oh my gosh, magnificent. I picked up a bunch of single beers while on a business trip to Texas and this one is a real treat. Fantastic! Just enough "tart" to keep you coming back for more, not too intense at all. Great straw color, just enough foam, smooth going down, what a treat.

This beer missed it's mark, at least with me. No head, no lacing, p yellow in color. To salty and not tart or sour enough to enjoy. I hope they keep trying with the gose and sour styles, they might make an enjoyable offering someday. As an added note, as this beer warms a bit it gets slightly more drinkable.

12 ounce can into a tulip glass.

Fizzy on the pour and a fizzy head results. Sitting for a few moments a few fingers thick before dissipating and leaving traces of film and a ring of lace. Lemon or wheat-colored in the body with a cloudy, murkiness. Not the sexiest gose I've seen but not too far off from what I should probably expect. 4

Sweet notes of wheat and malt lead off before a lemon aroma and tartness emerge. Straightforward and pleasant. 4

Crackers and lemons mingle on the tongue with a lingering salt flavor. Some malt sweetness combines with the lemon flavor mid-palate to suggest lemonade very briefly. 3.75

Light and easy-drinking as should be. Mild sweetness to go with the tame tartness and light acidity before a semi-dry finish. 4

A worthwhile gose. I could put six of these away no problem. I wouldn't be mad at all if this was my local gose as it would be a go-to.

Amazingly refreshing and tasty. Best so far of the Gose style. Drink on a summer day.
