Kookie Monster is brewed with peppermint, chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar and lactose then aged 3-5 months in whiskey barrels with cacao nibs.

Look: black with a thick mocca colored head

Aroma: roasted malts, chocolate, peppermint, whiskey.

Flavor: There's sweet and roasted malts, chocolate, peppermint, it's sweet, and then the whiskey. It is like eating cookies and having whiskey if that is your thing.

Body/Overall: Full body, silky, if sipped slowly this is pretty enjoyable.

Great beer.

Not overly sweet with a taste that matches its intentions.

Well done.

Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours pitch black color with a one finger head of brown colored foam. The head has a great level of retention, very slowly fading over time to leave a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. When swirled in the glass the thickness of the brew can be seen with thick fingers of brew slowly sliding down the glass back to the bulk of the beer.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is huge of a chocolate and mint as well as lots of roasted malt and a touch of vanilla. Along with these smells comes some light coffee and a decent showing of crème and a light whisky.
Taste – The taste begins with a very sweet roasted and toasted malt flavor with lots of chocolate and a whole lot of crème and milk chocolate. Along with these tastes comes a bit of mint with the mint starting out very light, but getting more and more potent as the taste advances. Along with these flavors comes more dry coca and some light whiskey flavors. Some molasses and more milk chocolate come at the very end, leaving one with a very sweet and sugary thin mint cookie like taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and creamy with a carbonation level that is lower. For the big sweet and dessert like flavors of the brew the feel is good and makes for nice dessert like sipper.
Overall – A fun brew to try. It smells very akin to a thin mint cookie and tastes like a heavy milk stout mixed with thin mint cookies. While a bit too sweet for my tastes on most occasions, for an occasional sipper it is a nice dessert brew.
