This starts out with a delightful mouthful of aromatic hops, so I was optimistic. I have had some borderline undrinkable bitter beers from Acoustic so I have been leery of their IPAs. But then as that second gulp marinates the tongue, there is that intense medicinal bitterness.

Color is a lovely orange-amber with a fine pile of foam in the Peroni Lager glass. Thin body with a club soda feel. Aroma is wonderful, though, with the honeysuckle and pine. A little melon and mango in that first split second before the wolf teeth sink into your palate. Grapefruit pith finish with an endless earthy hot taste.

Resiny and overly bitter light brew. I like the lower alcohol, for an IPA, but this is a disappointment. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Barons Market on West Point Loma.

Trying the Willow Wolves at the Courtyard James Republic restaurant in Long Beach. It poured a clear deep copper with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent is faint pine. The taste is bitter leaning with some pine and citrus presence. The Mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.....Worth a try......why not!

Pours two fingers of head on a hazy light straw body.
The aroma is lots of grapefruit and a little pine. Nice.
The taste is moderately pine and grapefruit bitterness throughout, a little malt comes through too.
The texture is crisp.
It's enjoyable.

Says brewed with Simcoe, Nelson, and Chinook

A: Dark caramel amber body with some very fine clarity. Shows off all the active effervescence. Half finger of ivory foam caps the glass and slowly slips down to a full crown. Light tracks of lace run in intervals down the glass.

S: Smells grassy with nice nuances of dank marijuana. Light grapefruit with zest and a touch of white wine grape. I get some bready malt presence underneath. Nice bouquet of hop aromas just not particularly pungent.

T: Big toasty caramel and bread malt flavor followed by dank herbs, grass, grapefruit, and light white wine grape. Mostly citrus overall with some elements of pine and herbals. Lightly bitter on the palate and well balanced for the most part with alcohol kept well hidden. Decent hop flavor profile there but a bit back seat to the malts.

M: The mouth feel is light and frothy with a moderate amount of filling. Lower amount of actual perceived bitterness. Dry at the finish and slightly resinous.

D: Nicely balanced and drinkable but not really going to stand out in the San Diego market. I like the hop selection but it is just seems they used too sparingly in my opinion.
